The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S generation of consoles have been considered the weakest by many due to the lack of exclusives. But what seemed impossible for the longest time finally happened when Xbox and PlayStation started bringing their exclusives to each other’s platforms and ending the console wars.
With Xbox making the first move by bringing Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to the PS Store. PlayStation followed suit with the recent collaboration of Helldivers 2 with Halo, and now with Gears of War Reloaded also launching day 1 on the PS5, it is safe to say that console wars (excluding Nintendo) might finally be a thing of the past.
However, while Xbox has some interesting numbers to celebrate for their latest release, players are calling for nerfs for one of the weapons in the game.
Players Want Gnasher Nerfed While Gears Of War Celebrates 1 Million Players
In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post by Gears of War, they said:
Ending the console war, one grub at a time. Thank you for 1 million players.
—Gears of War
While many are celebrating this milestone, a lot of players are bringing other matters to attention. In the first comment below the tweet, user AIZEN said, “you will lose those 1 million players if you don’t fix the 1-shot downs with the gnasher”, and added a video showcasing just how broken this shotgun is.
This isn’t the only complaint that players have; several others are also bringing up matchmaking issues and how they’ve been “kicked out of every match if not every other match”. Meanwhile, some were asking for remasters of Gears of War 2 & 3.
The game currently sits at Mixed reviews on Steam, so even though it has a grand opening, it is safe to say it is off to a rough start. However, there is a good chance a lot of them will stick around, so long as developers follow Konami’s example with their Day 1 patch for Metal Gear Solid Delta. Listen to players’ requests to balance Gnasher, bring the FOV slider, and fix matchmaking issues.
