Date Everything! is a great dating sim that can really fulfill any fantasies you might have about your furniture. It’s a wild game with a cast of unique characters, like Mateo Manta, the personification of blankets.

He’s got a pretty unique story that will take you all over the house to find his inanimals. It will take a few days, as interacting with the lost inanimals makes it so you can’t interact with Mateo.

This guide will cover getting all of his endings, though hating him and his adorable crew of inanimals might be pretty hard. No matter what you want from Mateo, this guide will show you how to get it.

Mateo Manta Location

Mateo is located in the living room, on one of the green chairs. He’s the blanket draped over the chair.

He isn’t hard to find, but the same can’t be said for his inanimals. Just like all the best blankets, Mateo is a pretty soft guy, which is an important piece of information to keep in mind.

How to Romance, Befriend, or Make Enemies with Mateo Manta

No matter what you want from Mateo, you’ll need to follow through with his quest and find the missing inanimals. It’ll take a few days to get through, and you’ll get the opportunity to meet some other interesting dateables.

You’ll need to find three missing inanimals scattered around the house to get through his story. You’ll need to speak to a few other dateables, like Hoove, to find all the missing inanimals.

Mateo Introduction

In your first conversation with Mateo, you’ll find out he’s missing a specific inanimals, Davi. He’ll ask you to find the missing guy by speaking to Phoenicia and making a Placebook post.

The following choices will get you through the conversation, but some will end it before he gets the chance to tell you what you should be doing. These choices should help you avoid that.

Mateo’s Dialogue

Your Response

This is the second time he’s wandered off this week, I’m starting to get really worried.

Who is Davi?

You wouldn’t happen to have seen him around, would you?

I don’t think so, but I can keep an eye out.

HSSSS

Who is your little friend there?

meow~ meow~

I belong to her now.

You’re in good company.

Can I pet her?

Davi’s my responsibility, it’s my fault he’s missing. I really should have been watching him more closely…

You’ve got to lighten up on yourself.

It just doesn’t feel right, asking someone else to fix my mistake.

You’re not very good at accepting help, are you?

From here, Mateo will ask you to speak with Phoenicia and get a Placebook post started. After speaking with Phoenicia, you’ll want to head on back to Mateo to figure out where you can find this poor little lost inanimal.

The First Inanimal

Since Mateo is a little different from the other dateables, instead of covering each conversation from here on out, I’ll cover all the inanimals you need to find and how to snag them. For the first one, you’ll need to talk to Hoove.

If you haven’t spoken to Hoove before now, you won’t be able to progress forward until the second time you speak to him.

He’ll tell you that he heard Davi was over by Harper the Hamper. You’ll find this slithery little friend hanging out on the windowsill right by the hamper. Grab it, and you can head on back to Mateo the next chance you get.

The Second Inanimal

After you return the first inanimal, Mateo will tell you he heard Davi was twisting up some wires by the television. This inanimal is next to Connie under the television, although you might think it’s actually behind the television.

After you interact with the little spring, you’ll need to head back to Mateo the following day to turn him in and hopefully find Davi next.

The Third Inanimal

Mateo will tell you that some other dateables heard some rustling in the closet in the workout room. If you go up there and look at the bottom of the shelves, you should see a box with two little legs sticking out.

Once you grab this little guy, you’ll not only have Davi but another new friend to bring to Mateo. The next part of Mateo’s story will be the determining part for what ending you get with this soft boy.

Mateo’s Final Conversation

In this conversation, you’ll deliver Davi and one new friend, one that happens to be an old friend of Mateo’s. Stitch is actually the inanimal that Mateo lost all that time ago.

You may want to save before returning Davi and Stitch to Mateo. This way, you won’t have to go back to the very beginning if you’d like a different ending.

This will be the most important conversation you’ll have with Mateo as it will determine your relationship status. These answers will follow the Love/Friendship path, while the Hate path will be shown in another section.

Mateo’s Dialogue

Your Response

All that time I dedicated to looking after them and I still let one slip away.

You can’t blame yourself.

They’re my responsibility.

They’re lucky to have someone who refused to give up on them.

You’ve become part of the family. And I don’t want to lose that.

I’ve grown pretty attached to you all, too.

This conversation will end without much fanfare or an actual ending. You’ll need to talk to him the next day to finish his storyline.

Mateo’s Love/Friendship Path

If you’ve followed the guide up to this point, you should get exactly where you’re going. Like most characters, you can choose between which of the two positive endings you’d like by selecting the corresponding answer.

I’ve grown pretty attached to you all, too.

I’ve never really had a lot of time to go out with someone, but I’d love to make the time to be with you.

Yeah, I’d like that. Like a lot. (Love Ending)

Honestly, I see us more as friends. But I’d still like to hang out, if that’s okay?

Like I said earlier, you’ll need to return to him to finalize the ending the next day, but once you’ve made the choice, you’re locked in.

Mateo’s Hate Path

Mateo’s Hate path is only accessible once you’ve finished his quest. You’re welcome to insult him and his beliefs as much as you want before then, but it won’t do much other than slow you down.

Yeah lol you fucked this one up dude!

You’ve become part of the family. And I don’t want to lose that.

I’m honestly just fine now that the your stupid little quest is done.

Once you’ve chosen this option, Mateo will go silent before he simply tells you to leave. It’s arguably one of the toughest endings because it’s so curt with no recovery options or anything.

Mateo Manta Collectibles

Mateo has six collectibles for you to grab, all of which are just his adorable little inanimals. Each one you’ll find at a different point in Mateo’s storyline, none of which can be missed.

Of all the characters in Date Everything, Mateo has one of the longest quests in the whole game. If you’re looking to find every possible ending in this game, you might be playing for more than 100 hours, so strap in!
