There are a ton of hidden objectives and items all over the levels of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Sometimes they’re weapons or collectibles, and on the rare occasion, they’ll be a vendor.
The Mottled Skarr is one such vendor who sells a few items. They’re pretty well hidden if you aren’t poking around every side wall you can find, looking for any scrap of a secret area you can find.
You might miss them, but he’ll never go anywhere, it would seem. I’ll cover how to find them and what you can get from them if you’re able to track Mottled Skarr down.
Mottled Skarr Location
Mottle Skarr is a bit out of the way in Hunter’s March. If you’re hoping to reach them, you’ll need to have finished the Flexible Spines Quest and beaten Fourth Chorus to take the updrafts in Hunter’s March.
Once you’ve gotten that far, you can take the updraft to the bench in Hunter’s March and then follow the video below to find their exact location. I’ll also list out some bullet points for you, just in case you’d prefer something written to go by.
- From the Bench in Hunter’s Might, head to the right.
- Take the updraft up to the next level.
- Land on the left side and enter the opening.
- Head to the far left wall and do a small jump while moving left.
- The path inside will lead directly to the Mottled Skarr.
You’ll want to run as fast as you can using the dash ability. The entire path is laced with strong traps that you can only avoid by running.
You might need to come back after collecting some rosary beads. The items are worth it for sure if you can take the time to farm up beads to get them, so come with your wallet loaded up already if possible.
Mottled Skarr Items
While you can’t speak the same language, it would seem trade is a universal language anyway. Mottled Skarr has three items available for you to get at a cost and with zero item explanations.

If nothing else, I highly recommend getting the Curveclaw and Fractured Mask, as these are red and blue tools, respectively. Both can be extremely helpful, especially against the Savage Beastfly.
There’s plenty to discover in the world of Pharloom if you look hard enough. Make sure to keep an eye out for any hidden areas or items since they might be just what you need to finish an annoying boss fight along the way.
