Continuing from last week’s jam-packed game releases, this coming week’s lineup isn’t bad either, which is to be expected given we’re inching closer and closer to the busy Q4 release timeline.
For this week, there are 14 new game releases for the PS5 and PS4 on the PlayStation Network, with the last-gen console getting one major title.
Same as always, read on for our highlight picks and the complete game releases for the week.
PS5 and PS4 New Games Releasing This Week On PSN
September 8 – 14 PSN Releases Highlights
Borderlands 4 (PS5 – Sept. 12): The latest entry in Gearbox’s long-running looter shooter. This multiplayer co-op shooter promises a bajillion guns to obtain, and it should feature the franchise’s brand of humor. Expect massive quality-of-life improvements compared to past entries, and you don’t even need to wait for our review to know how it’s shaping up, as we managed to get some hands-on time with it already.
NHL 26 (PS5 – Sept. 12): Once again ditching the last-gen consoles, EA’s latest hockey sim is literally the only game in town. This time, the game is powered by the company’s ICE-Q 2.0 tech. which means your favorite hockey star will think, movie ,and play like their real-life counterpart. Same as with any sports sim, expect seasonal content throughout the game’s support lifespan.
Marvel Rivals (PS4 – Sept. 12): Who would have thought that after all this time, we’re finally going to see a last-gen version of Marvel Rivals?! While there’s no Xbox One version, the PS4 player base should provide a sizable increase in the game’s player base. The only concern now is the game’s performance, as it occasionally experiences issues when running on the PS5. Even so, this is a pleasant surprise for those still gaming on the PS4, since no one could have predicted this.
