Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is releasing on September 25th of this year, but that’s just too slow. Several days before the game’s release, you’ll be able to try it out with a speedy demo version, for free.
This demo will be available on most major platforms; PC, Switch, PlayStation 5, and on Xbox‘s series of consoles. On PC, it’ll be available on both Steam and the Epic Games store. However, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have not been included here — get fresher hardware.
If you want the exact date and time of this release, it’ll come out on September 17th, as early in the morning as can be. Depending on your time zone – if the calendar says 17, the demo is probably yours for the taking.
Sonic Racing: Crossworlds Free Demo Contents
Sega has not specified how much of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds will be available in this pre-release demo. It’ll likely be just enough to give you a taster package for the full game, but little else.
Maybe one track and one character, but game mechanics are harder to cut down. They can’t exactly remove your ability to turn left. You’ll get the whole driving experience, and – if most demos are anything to go by – you’ll probably win your race. The game’s crossover content almost certainly won’t be included.
There may also be the option for save-data transfers, where content unlocked in the demo will carry forward into the full release. That’s been fairly standard across a ton of demos, though not all games have or need that sort of trackable progress.
As it stands, we’re closer to the Demo’s release than the game’s full launch, but not by much. If you’d rather sink your teeth into the full game, all at once, it won’t be too much longer of a wait. Just an extra week, plus a day.
