Black Myth: Wukong Latest Xbox Series X Patch Fixes Blurry Graphics And Other Bugs

One of the biggest titles from 2024, Black Myth: Wukong, finally made its way to the Xbox Series X|S, a year after it had already been available on PC and PlayStation 5. There is a lot to love about this game, which is why it became one of the 10 Steam games with the highest all-time peak players.

The main reason for this delay, as explained by Feng Ji, CEO of Game Science, was the underpowered Xbox Series S. However, when the game finally hit the systems, it surprisingly didn’t perform well on either of them.

A major issue that the players had with it was the blurry graphics. Luckily, the developers have released a patch that addresses this along with some other issues.

Black Myth: Wukong Patch 1.0.20.21518 Fixes Blurry Graphics On Xbox Series X

On their official website, you can find the patch notes on what changes this update brings:

  • Fixed an issue where the graphics appeared blurry on Xbox Series X due to global illumination ghosting in Quality and Balance modes.
  • Fixed crashes and errors occurring under certain conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where certain side quests became unprogressable or triggered errors when a dialogue was exited abnormally.
  • Fixed an issue where certain bosses in Mount Huaguo would sink abnormally when the player moved away.
  • Fixed an issue where the game responded slowly to controller input in the Text Language dropdown menu within Settings.

Even though the developers had a year to port the game, it is good that they are finally fixing the known issues. Players can now, allegedly, play without having to worry about unexpected crashes, poor visuals, or bugs that break side quests.

YouTuber Fuzion Xbox Testing posted a video showcasing the gameplay and FPS after the latest update, and from the look of things, it performs better. However, if you check the comments, some people are still unhappy with how Black Myth: Wukong looks on the Xbox Series X.

As of now, this update is only for Series X, so it is safe to assume that Series S players will have to wait longer for a patch, especially since it looked worse than X on launch. Hopefully, the developers can get the game into a better state quickly for both consoles. Otherwise, it could affect the Xbox sales for Game Science’s upcoming title, Black Myth: Zhong Kui.
