Kojima's OD Teaser Trailer Is Out, And It's The Spiritual Successor To PT

It is always fun to see beloved genres that have a lot of potential finally be revived. We recently saw that with fighting games, which had 1000+ registrations for Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 for EVO France, and pros were fighting for the top spot in 2XKO.

Similarly, extraction shooters are also back with Arena Breakout Infinite being released, Escape from Tarkov coming soon, and Delta Force collaborating with Metal Gear Solid Delta. So, it is about time that the survival horror genre gets more love again as well.

With less than 2 days left for Silent Hill f, it already has garnered a lot of positive reviews. Resident Evil Requiem and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly remake will also be available in 2026. And to make things even better, Kojima Productions, just a few hours ago, released the trailer for their upcoming title “OD” in celebration of their 10th anniversary!

Kojima Productions’ Upcoming Title OD Is For All Players And Screamers

Kojima Productions’ recent X (formerly Twitter) post shows the teaser trailer for OD:

Fans who have been following Kojima’s work for a long time will see hints of PT in OD. For those who are new to the genre or his works, PT or Silent Hills PT was a game that was supposed to be released for the PS4, before it unfortunately got cancelled.

Unlike traditional Silent Hill games, PT was supposed to be a first-person game, but it sadly never saw the light of day due to the falling out between Kojima and Konami. To make matters worse, Konami even got the playable build removed from the PlayStation store, and players could not reinstall it.

Luckily, there was a playable build of PT for PC a few years ago, and you can still check out its gameplay on YouTube. Here is where OD comes in, sharing the eerie and unnerving vibes as its spiritual predecessor.

Many fans are already calling it the return of the PT project or PT 2. But while most people are happy about it, many others are concerned about the game being made on Unreal Engine 5, worrying that it too will face performance issues like some of the recent games.

Finally, another thing to note is that Kojima Productions has partnered with Xbox Game Studios for it. While the good news is that it will not be a timed-exclusive for PlayStation, let’s just hope it doesn’t get the Scalebound, Everwild, or Perfect Dark treatment by getting cancelled.
