It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly a year since STALKER 2 was released last year.
Despite enjoying our time with it at launch, it wasn’t exactly a perfect experience. Calling the game janky was an understatement, but if you were willing to look past all that, you were in for a good time.
Developer GSC Game World has been hard at work since the game’s launch, addressing the game’s key issues. Their effort has paid off well; the game currently boasts a “Mostly Positive” rating according to Steam reviews.
The game’s newest update, 1.6, was already a home run thanks to its rebalancing of stashes in the Zone. We now have the full list of changes, as the update is available today.
STALKER 2 Update 1.6 Night Of The Hunter Is Now Live
Today’s STALKER 2 update is much more than just stash loot. GSC continues to be hard at work tackling bugs, balancing weapons and enemies, and improving mod support.
The highlight, as featured in the video below, is the introduction of Night Vision Goggles, which are always a welcome addition to any game, in my opinion. Enemy AI has also improved, offering a more immersive experience for players.
Here’s the full list of highlights awaiting players:
- Night Vision Goggles
- Night vision rebalance for NPCs
- Offset Aiming and Laser Pointer
- Updates to combat system and long-ranged battles
- NPCs can now loot mutants
- New anomaly: Fireball
- Return of the old friend
- Tweaks to the controller inputs
- New face and hair options for female characters
- Local Save Backup Restoration option
- Rebalanced loot in stashes throughout the Zone.
- Added Auto-Lean Disable option in controls settings.online
- Player stash items can now be sorted.
- Added a new unique weapon: Honta’s “Drahunka”
As always, with every update can come a host of problems, and GSC Game World is aware of that possibility. With the 1.6 Update now live, they warn players to be aware that there may be performance issues for those playing with mods. As always, it’s recommended that you disable mods if you are experiencing stability issues with the game.
