It feels like just yesterday Blizzard announced the future of World of Warcraft at BlizzCon 2023. It was there that Chris Metzen announced the upcoming “Worldsoul Saga” for World of Warcraft, alongside three upcoming expansions: The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan.
Now, here we are almost two years later, and The War Within is winding down as we head into the release of World of Warcraft Midnight and the highly anticipated introduction of player housing.
The Midnight expansion brings players back to Quel’Thalas, first introduced in the iconic Burning Crusade expansion, and continues the story where things left off at the conclusion of The War Within. Blizzard has done an excellent job of establishing a legitimate, ever-present villain in Xal’atath, and best of all, she’s not a one-and-done “flavor of the month” antagonist.
Of course, the real appeal of Midnight, at least for this Classic Andy, is a chance to return to some of the most iconic locations in Warcraft history. Oh, and player housing is a pretty cool feature too, I guess.
Today, Blizzard provided a deep dive into the upcoming Midnight expansion. While some of it served as a “BlizzCon light,” confirming details we already knew, we also received some new information on Player Housing.
World of Warcraft Player Housing Launches This December For Midnight Owners
Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that those who have pre-ordered the Midnight expansion for World of Warcraft will get access to player housing as soon as this December, which is a few months ahead of the rumored release date of February 26th, 2026.
We already knew that anyone who pre-ordered Midnight would be getting Early Access for housing; now we know when we can expect it. Blizzard also confirmed that housing decor options will be tied to completing various tasks in-game, including legacy content.
If you’ve already completed old raids, dungeons, and legacy content, these decoration options will already be unlocked.
In total, there are three versions of Midnight available for pre-order from the Blizzard shop.
