If you want to get your hands on legendary gear in Borderlands 4, you will want to start farming bosses. After all, guns like the Noisy Cricket or the Wombo Combo are now dedicated drops from specific bosses.

Those who are fans of assault rifles in the game have probably heard of the Bloody Lumberjack. This great assault rifle has a unique ability that helps mow down large numbers of enemies easily, and it drops from a specific boss, the Foundry Freaks.

Let’s break down where you can find Frank the Furnace and the Foundry Freaks, along with all their legendary drops in Borderlands 4.

Where To Find The Foundry Freaks in Borderlands 4

Frank the Furnace and the Foundry Freaks are located in the southwestern part of the Idolator’s Noose section of The Fadefields in a Ripper Drill Site called The Pitted Stain. This is directly south of the Someday Rise Safehouse in the same area and beneath Fortress Indomita, where you fight Idolator Sol.

Before you will be able to fight the Foundry Freaks, you will first need to clear out the large wave of enemies that appear at the drill site. This is standard for all the Ripper Drill Sites across the map, and will take a few minutes, but the boss will appear once they are nearly cleared out.

All Foundry Freaks Loot/Rewards

There are three dedicated drops that you can get from the Foundry Freaks in Borderlands 4. These include assault rifles and one grenade, but do not include any of the legendary class mods.

Name

Item Type

Abilities

Chuck

Weapon/Assault Rifle

This assault rifle isn’t shot. Instead, you constantly throw the weapon at enemies, causing an explosion wherever it hits.

Bloody Lumberjack

Weapon/Assault Rifle

Fires saw blades instead of normal bullets. These blades ricochet off surfaces and deal damage to targets hit directly. Deals damage again after a few seconds.

Chaumurky

Grenade

After being thrown, this grenade consistently homes in on targets.

The main prize from the Foundry Freaks is the Bloody Lumberjack. This weapon fires sawblades that bounce around the battlefield and stick to enemies, dealing damage multiple times to targets that are struck.

Chuck is also a great weapon for those who are playing as Rafa, because he has a class mod that increases the number of guns thrown, making the weapon far more deadly in his hands than in the other characters’.

Finally, Chaumurky is a great grenade that consistently homes in on enemies after you throw it. There are better grenades in the game, but this one is good if you end up getting your hands on it.

Tips For Fighting Foundry Freaks

The Foundry Freaks are made up of three different bosses; Frank the Furnace, Hank the Welder, and Sal the Engineer. Frank is a Meathead enemy, Hank is a psycho, and Sal is a Ripper with robotic legs that spins.

During the fight, Frank will hang back, lobbing balls of fire while Hank and Sal will rush you. I suggest taking Hank and Sal out first since they are the biggest threats and will consistently come after you.

Keep on the move while shooting at Hank and Sal, using your jump pack to jump over and outmaneuver them. You will want to stick with using corrosive weapons to take down each of the boss’s armor and then switch to incendiary weapons to take down their health.

Once you have the two melee bosses dealt with, Frank is a much easier fight. You can keep a distance from him, making most of his attacks miss, and giving you the advantage.
