Crunchyroll set a US release date for the anime movie Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved. The film will show up on October 20, 2025. Fandango is already selling tickets for showings, which seem to be around $12 for children and about $15 for adults. It will be a one-day event, so that is the only chance for folks to see it in theaters.
The announcement also offered additional elaboration on the film. It continues the story after the second season of the anime, which is also streaming on Crunchyroll. The focus is on Kanna and whether she will choose to stay with Kobayashi, Tohru, and Iruru or return to her father and family Kamun Kamui. At the same time, there’s a potential of a possible war between dragons, and the Kobayashi family might be able to help settle it.

This is one of multiple Crunchyroll anime movie showings over the next few months. The second is Overlord: A Celebration of the Anime’s 10th Anniversary. That airs on November 17, 2025. That will be followed by a Crunchyroll Anime Nights: Secret Sneak on December 15, 2025.
