The Race Park in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds essentially serves the same purpose as the VS mode in any other kart racer, but with a similar rival mechanic to the Grand Prix that will reward you with a bunch of cars and car parts.

This means you get a playground to mess around with some team-based modes that are usually reserved for the limited-time festivals, and play things like custom matches with extreme items, or select only specific crossworlds to come up.

That said, even if you’re not in it for the local multiplayer, you have a reason to play. You get pitted against a rival team that will reward you with a new car for beating them three times, and these vehicles can be pretty damn good.

Namely, you get one of the best power cars from doing this, as well as a shiny new golden vehicle from getting through every challenge the mode has to offer. Even so, there are rather easy ways to progress through it quickly.

How To Win Quick

For the sake of progression, all you need to do is be better than the rival team in terms of score. This means achieving a higher overall team score than them in a team mode, or placing higher than any of their teammates in a solo mode.

If you have a good group of buddies willing to help out, either in local splitscreen or online, you can opt for the team modes, as that will generally be easier as long as you’re with good players. For solo, though, do not rely on the bots.

Quick Match and Extreme Match are easily the better options if you’re on your own, and both only take around three minutes to finish a race. With the right combination of vehicle parts, you can excel every time with ease.

Things get pretty tricky near the end of this mode’s progression, so I’d recommend running a max speed build with some item defense, then going for quick matches on a track you love, and keep trying until you succeed.

After you get through the initial round of every rival team, you will be informed by Dodon Pa that you actually need to run through every team again to get the final, golden kart, and these CPU racers love shamelessly cheating.

They shrug off items like nothing, go faster than you can, and are generally big nuisances. Here, more than ever, I recommend finding friends to help out, going for your favorite team mode, and running with as much speed as possible to finish the mode off.

That said, you should absolutely build your gadgets around the secondary objective in the team modes. The Rival Teams cannot do this, so it puts you at an objective advantage, and it’s something you should take advantage of.

If you find the teams past Level 7 to be far too difficult and unfair, you can always turn the difficulty down if all you’re here for are the rewards. You won’t be getting many tickets this way, but it’s certainly easier than the typical slog.

Race Park Rivals and Rewards

Every run through Race Park has you beating rival teams in the same order, always offering the same rewards. If you want to know exactly what you’re gunning for, here are all the vehicles you can unlock with each rival team:

Boost

After defeating every team twice, you unlock the Super Shining, a Speed type vehicle that has slightly worse speed and better Power and Boost in comparison to the Speedster Lightning, which honestly, is not all that worth it, aside from looking cool.

Getting all the car parts gives you a ton of options for customization, though, especially if you’re hurting for more options on Extreme Gear. It can also be pretty easy to do, if you just turn down the rival level.

Race Park Challenges

Of course, like with every other mode in the game, Race Park has a few challenges that are tied to the achievements, trophies, or whatever else you call them. Here’s how to get all of them rather easily.

  • AI Outrunner is extremely simple, just beat a rival team. Lower the difficulty as much as you want, and you will still get this one.
  • Turn The Tables requires you to win a team-based mode using the bonus objective. This is simple enough, just go for the objective constantly, and you will probably get it with time.
  • Sharpshooter, Skirmisher, Ring Fanatic, Relay Racer, and Daredevil all just make you beat each mode in Race Park 10 times. You will progress through these naturally while going for the car unlocks, as long as you keep changing up the mode you’re playing.
  • Ultimate Park Racer makes you beat all the Rival Teams, another one you will get naturally by unlocking everything.
  • Top of the Line has you beat a max level Rival Team. This one is genuinely really difficult, but I found it easiest to do by going into ring grab and building my gadgets around ring collection, as that’s something none of the rival teams can do, giving you a very distinct advantage.
  • Data Breach makes you beat all the Rival Teams a second time, which you’ll also get through unlocking everything, even if that is a little bit exhausting at this point.
