There are a few puzzles that might stump you while playing Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2. For instance, earlier in the game, you will come across the Atrium puzzle that bars you from reaching Ysabella.
After discovering the underground passages and making your way to where the Gardener is buried, you will come across a strange hand sticking out of a podium. This fingerless hand must have its fingers returned if you wish to progress forward.
After doing the digging and discovering where all of these missing digits are, we have a solution to the fingerless hand puzzle in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2.
How To Solve The Fingerless Hand Puzzle
When you find the fingerless hand, you will get the objective to “solve the puzzle of the fingerless hand.” This doesn’t come with any direction, but it isn’t the most difficult puzzle to solve despite this.
To find the solution to the puzzle, you must locate the four fingers that the hand is missing. These are scattered around the building you are in.
You will need your vampiric abilities for this. Primarily, you will need your vampiric senses, as they will reveal every finger locations.
First Finger Location
The first of the fingers is located in the room on the left side of the structure. Go around to the circular doorway and enter the room. Inside, you will see a gong with a bookshelf in front of it on the left.
If you use your vampiric senses in this room, you will see the symbol etched on your hand on the bookshelves in the back of the room. The key to this, and the rest of the symbols, is to stand in a location where the symbol lines up perfectly.
To do this, stand on top of the bookshelf near the gong and look to the back of the room, where the symbol is located. This will align the symbol, causing it to disappear, and prompt you to use your telekinesis.
Use your telekinesis to pull the finger toward you, unlocking the first of the four fingers needed for the puzzle.
Second Finger Location
The second finger is located in the room on the right side of this underground building. This room has a destroyed staircase in the center of it, along with two broken pillars.
Using your senses in this room will, again, cause your hand marking to appear. This time, the mark will appear on the balcony and staircase.
In the corner of the room, you will see some stone sticking out of the wall. Stand on top of these stones to align the parts of the marking, finishing it, and causing the second finger to appear.
Use your telekinesis once more to retrieve the finger once it becomes seen.
Third Finger Location
To find the third finger, make your way to the hand. From there, turn to the left and look at the balcony on the left side of the main room. You will see bookshelves lining the balcony.
When you use your vampiric senses, you will see the marking segments appear on the bookshelves. You will now need to align yourself with the bookshelves to complete the mark and obtain the third finger.
Fourth Finger Location
The fourth and final finger is located to the left of the fingerless hand. Stand in front of the hand and look to the left. You will see the marking through the doorway on the left.
Simply walk up to the doorway, and the marking will align. You may need to adjust where you are standing in the doorway for it to work. Once the finger appears, you will have them all.
Return to the Hand
Now that you have all four fingers, return to the hand in the back of the main room. Interact with the hand, and you will get a cutscene showing the fingers reattached.
This will now teleport you to that flower field with the tree in the center that you have seen in Fabien’s memories, and you will confront the Gardener directly.
Keep in mind that you will have many more long fights ahead of you in the game, so you may want to unlock some stronger abilities to make sure that you can survive the future encounters.
