Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is out now, and naturally modders have immediately emerged from the shadows to start shaping it into what they want from a bout of neck-biting.
Make sure to check out Dominic Tarason’s review for us if you’re still hunting for verdicts before you drain your wallet, but if you’re looking to start modding away, I’m glad to report that Bloodlines 2’s quickly amassing a nice array of early tweaks.
In terms of handy changes, modder Caites has snatched the lead so far in my estimation. Their player tweaks offer a handful of adjustments like boosted attack power with the caveat of increased fragility, lowered likelihood of being sussed out via stealthy violence, and quicker general movement speed to make commuting between quest givers more palatable. Other works from the same modder include faster levelling, un-vignetted sneakage and a boost to the blood dished out by feeding, the latter hopefully making hunting humans a bit less tedious a process than Dominic found it.
Beyond those, there’s a camera freer, some of the usual attempts at reshading and performance optimising, and oh, wait. It’s Silent Hill f‘s famed fog remover, FellowDemo, continuing their crusade to de-mistify spooky locales. In this case, that work looks to render Seattle’s nights even more noticeably neon-drenched, so maybe worth grabbing if you’re curious about architecture or have always wondered what it’d be like to go on a vampirecation to the Las Vegas strip.
Rounding things out are some basic outfit and hair revamps, in case you fancy some differently coloured threads or wandering around in the snow with a bit more boob on display, again I assume for reasons of Vegas night out roleplay. Finally, modder Jenya66 has decided female Phyre needs a post-prologue manicure to get rid of some chipped black nail polish, because being nice and clean on the outside is always important when you regularly fill your insides with the tomato juice of random strangers.
