The most sought-after rewards in Phasmophobia, aside from the impeccably unique trophies you can earn and display in the main lobby, are customizable ID Cards and Badges. As the game evolves and continues to add more new areas and challenges, there are always more of these ID Cards and Badges to collect, reflecting your participation in the game overall. They’re also just a great flex to have in arguable one of the best modern horror multiplayer games.
One particularly unique and comical addition to this collection is the Moneybags ID Card and Badge. If you’re anxious to add this one to your roster, here’s how to unlock and use the Moneybags ID Card and Badge in Phasmophobia.
How to Get the Moneybags ID Card and Badge in Phasmophobia
The Moneybags ID Card and Badge in Phasmophobia is a reward added to the game as part of the Nell’s Diner (v0.15.0.0) update on November 11, 2025. However, this particular customization reward is not directly connected to investigations done at Nell’s Diner (unlike its respective weekly and event board challenges).
To get the Moneybags ID Card in Badge, you need to first unlock the Break the Bank trophy/achievement. To do that, you need to accrue and then spend at least $100,000 cumulatively. Money (also the game’s version of EXP) is earned by completing contracts on any map in the game, and that money is in turn used to supply your equipment loadouts and upgrade tools within those loadouts.
In general, the best ways to earn more Money/EXP per contract include:
- Conduct your investigations on higher difficulties (e.g. – Amateur, Intermediate, Professional, etc)
- Complete the three optional objectives provided in the van during each contract
- Gather as much media evidence as possible (e.g. – Photos, Video Clips, Sound Recordings)
- Correctly identify the ghost (a given but nonetheless a priority)
- Survive any hunts and return to headquarters alive (also a given, but if you happen to die during a contract, you’ll receive a heavy penalty)
If you manage to fulfill every possible task during a contract, you can earn the hefty Perfect Investigation Bonus for your efforts.
Once you earn and spend $100,000, the Break the Bank trophy/achievement will unlock, and the Moneybags ID Card and Badge will subsequently also unlock via your lobby menu. It hilariously resembles a bright blue credit card, complete with a chip on the left side and the ‘Moneybags’ title on the top.
How to Change Your Character ID Card and Badge in Phasmophobia
As you collect customizable ID Cards and Badges in Phasmophobia, of course, you’ll want to flex each of them among friends and fellow paranormal investigators. To change your character’s ID Card and Badge, interact with the center bulletin board in the game’s main lobby, where your current chosen contract/challenge, loadout, and character profile are always listed.
Select the Edit icon on the top right corner of your character’s ID Card, and this will bring up the Card Themes and Badges that you’ve personally unlcoked for your profile. They’re subdivided into two categories, including your Prestige Badges and then Special Badges. As their name suggests, Prestige Badges are unlocked by prestiging your character upon reaching Level 100. This resets your level, your EXP gains, and your equipment upgrades. Each Prestige Badge is unique to its respective rank, and past Prestige 10, you’ll be able to unlock unique animated versions of the first 10 Prestige Badges/IDs.
Meanwhile, Special Badges refer to badges that you’ve unlocked via in-game challenges, Twitch drops and seasonal events. This is where you’ll find your Moneybags ID Card/Badge, indicated by a gold coin. Select the badge to apply it as your current ID card and Badge. You can adjust your preferred Prestige Badge as well, which is always in the second badge slot on the right. You may need to toggle the ID card’s display until it adjusts to the look that you want.
