It feels like yesterday we were highlighting the best games of the year as we hit the halfway point of 2025.
Now all of a sudden it’s November, and we’re approaching awards season.
Coming into today, despite how stacked the year has been for great games, we generally had a good idea of some of the names we’d see nominated at The Game Awards. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was going to loom large over this event, but there were plenty of other notable games worthy of consideration. Donkey Kong Bananza, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Ghost of Yotei are all deserving of recognition. Dispatch has recently come along and won over the hearts of millions.
Then there’s the great games people may have forgotten from this year, notably Blue Prince and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Speaking of indies, it’s been a great year for them as well (looking at you, Ball x Pit).
Plus, I’d have been surprised if Kojima didn’t get some shout-outs as well.
Well, the waiting is over, and the debate has begun. Geoff Keighley has revealed all the nominations for The Game Awards 2025, set to take place on December 11th. Here are all the games that will be vying to take home some hardware.
Every Game Nominated At The Game Awards 2025
In a surprise to no one, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 leads the way with a staggering 12 nominations.
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s impressive 19 nominations are carried by Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei. Indies had a great year, too, headlined by the six nominations for Hades 2, as well as the five nominations for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
There were some surprise inclusions, not to mention some notable snubs. Let’s not waste any more time. Here’s the full list of noms:
