Hello Yoshi App Joins Hello Mario App

Nintendo released another mobile app for kids in its My Mario line, with Hello Yoshi joining the Hello Mario one that debuted in August 2025. It is available for Android and Apple iOS devices for free, and it is also on the Switch in Japan. It is on Google Play in English and Japanese now, but only the Japanese App Store page is live as of time of writing. In Japan, new My Mario merchandise includes an array of Yoshi toys, books, and plush for kids.

Like Hello Mario, the Hello Yoshi app involves tapping on the screen to manipulate Yoshi’s face and interact with him. You can bring in power-ups to see different reactions and cause additional effects. It is also possible to play peekaboo with the character and the classic Mario Boo enemy.

Here are some of the official Japanese screenshots from Nintendo.

In Japan, a number of pieces of tie-in My Mario merchandise are appearing alongside the app. A plush Yoshi that plays music and voiced lines and stuffed versions of the character that hold a blanket or act as a rattle are out now. Blocks featuring Yoshi, Princess Peach, and Luigi also debuted today in the country. A Pero-Pero Yoshi picture book launches on November 20, 2025 there. These don’t have a US release window yet, but we could see them alongside the other My Mario kid’s toys, books, and plush in 2026.
