There are plenty of resources scattered about the hostile alien world of StarRupture, and you will need them all if you want to survive against the hordes of Vermin. Resources like Helium, Calcium, and Wolfsbane Ore are all present in the overworld and are easy to spot, but other resources are a bit more hidden.
StarRupture: How to Get Stator Blueprint
A truly hidden treasure.
Ignitium is a resource you may not have found or may not even know exists. This is because it only appears on the planet during a specific time. If you don’t get it, it’s gone.
Let’s break down how to get your hands on some Ignitium and what it is used for in StarRupture.
How to Find Ignitium in StarRupture
Unlike other resources like Calcium, you won’t simply find Ignitium sitting on the surface of the planet. Instead, there are special conditions that must be met before Ignitium will appear. The condition: a heatwave.
The planet in StarRupture goes through a cycle of rejuvenation, where the planet literally burns everything on the surface away, sits dormant as it cools, and then revitalizes. During this cooling period is when Ignitium will make its appearance.
Wait for the planet to ignite and take shelter in your bunker. The flames will last a few minutes. During this time, stepping outside will be fatal.
Once the planet becomes cool enough for you to step outside your habitat, you will see glowing rocks scattered around the landscape. These glowing rocks are Ignitium, and they are easy to spot through the haze that covers the planet after the heatwave.
StarRupture: How to Get and Drink Water
You need to know how to get and drink water in StarRupture if you want to survive more than a day.
To obtain the Ignitium, run to these rocks and use your mining device to collect the resources from the burning meteorites. Keep in mind that you have a limited time to do this, as the planet cools pretty quickly, and the Ignitium will soon disappear.
Luckily, you shouldn’t need to worry about enemies during this time, so if you are lacking weapons at the moment, you shouldn’t need to worry. Vermin typically don’t appear during this phase of the planet’s cycle, allowing you to move around without worry of being attacked.
Each of these glowing meteorites will only give you one or two Ignitium at a time using your mining device, and there is no other way to get this material, as there are no veins of it around the map.
What is Ignitium Used For?
Ignitium only has one use in StarRupture, and that is for analysis. When you highlight the material in your inventory, you will see that it says that it is used in the Analysis Station built inside your base.
When collecting Ignitium, the only benefit you will get from it is points from the Analysis Station. Because of this, you shouldn’t hang onto this resource.
Instead of hanging onto it, you should dump it into the Analysis Station to get the extra points and use those points to level up with the different corporations. We recommend saving up your points for a little bit before spending them, as each piece of Ignitium is only worth 70 points. Luckily, you should be able to get up to around 10 with each cycle, getting you an extra 700 points.
