There is one thing that is a guarantee in Hytale, besides the need to defend yourself from dangerous monsters, and that is that you will be using tools frequently. After all, you need a means of obtaining resources, collecting food, and more.

For all your teleporting needs.
Similar to many other survival titles, you will see that each of your tools has a durability bar that shows how much longer you have until your tool breaks. Rather than building a new one, you can opt to repair your tool before it shatters.
Let’s break down how to repair your tools and weapons in Hytale, so you can keep on going.
Crafting Repair Kits in Hytale
The way to repair your weapons and tools in Hytale is rather simple. All you need is a Repair Kit, and you will be able to restore an item’s durability bar to its former glory.
Of course, like everything else in a survival game, this is easier said than done. If you want to get your hands on a Repair Kit, you will need to build it.
Building a Repair Kit requires three items:
- Linen Scraps
- Iron Ingot
- Light Leather
Let’s start with the Linen Scraps. To obtain these, you need to defeat your standard enemies, skeletons and goblins. These foes are prevalent in the starting area, the Emerald Wilds, making them easy to come across in the early hours of the game. Defeating a few of these foes will get you the Linen Scraps that you need.
Next up, you will need an Iron Ingot. This is one of the basic resources for many of the earlier crafting recipes in Hytale, and it can be found underground. The easiest means of getting your hands on this resource is by exploring the cave systems around the map. Once you get Iron Ore, put it in your furnace to get some Iron Ingots.
Finally, you need some Light Leather. This is obtained by defeating animals like chickens. First, you will get Light Hide. Once this is obtained, put the Light Hide on a tanning rack, and you will get Light Leather.

Once you have all the necessary items, you will be able to build a Repair Kit on a workbench. Interact with the workbench to bring up the menu. After this, select the tools tab, which is represented by the pickaxe icon.
In this menu, select the first item in the upper left corner. This will be the Repair Kit. Select the craft option, and it will be added to your inventory.
How to Use a Repair Kit
Now that you have a Repair Kit in your inventory, place it on your hotbar. After this, scroll over to the item on your bar, or click the number key it is assigned to place it in your hand.
With the Repair Kit in your hand, left-click your mouse to activate it. You will see a menu appear on your screen asking you which item you would like to repair.
Select the item you wish to repair, and it will use your Repair Kit. This will fully repair your item, allowing you to get more use out of it.
