One aspect of Final Fantasy XIV that has the most appeal, and one that MMORPGs strive for, is cosmetics. It’s a universal portion of the experience where players want to look as good as possible to flex their ideal setup. Sometimes, it’s getting an Ultimate weapon to show off how much time you spent in a raid, or it’s something more casual, such as doing Maps to craft an aesthetically pleasing aura.
No matter what it is, Final Fantasy XIV has something for everyone, and one very appealing addition comes in the latest expansion, Dawntrail, in the form of a space suit.
Final Fantasy 14 Might Be Getting Reborn (Again)
Final Fantasy 14 Director Naoki Yoshida has revealed that the game may be reborn again in the future, possibly as part of move to a new engine.
Adventuring into Cosmic Exploration
If you’ve been playing Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail and keeping up with the new and riveting content over the last year, then you probably know of Cosmic Exploration.
This is a new type of content in the MMORPG that gives crafters and gatherers something to do outside the traditional means of leveling and working on projects. It’s similar to the Ishgard Restoration that was introduced in Shadowbringers, bringing together all Disciples of Hand and Land, and progressing their servers’ rankings.
It’s primarily how fast and how much progress each server can make through the various stages of the building process, as players slowly build up the world’s colonization and base.
It’s not just a feeling of getting things done, as there are various special rewards that are handed out, most of which are cosmetic, while some server a purpose for the jobs at hand. It’s a good way to spend your time between big patches and raid cycles.
How to Get the Powersuit
As you probably have gathered, the Powersuit is tied directly to the Cosmic Exploration content. It makes sense, too, considering that Cosmic Exploration is all about going out into space and building bases and structures on distant planets.
We’ve already got a futuristic-looking space suit that feels like it was pulled out of Solution Nine, but the latest suit comes in the form of a slightly more traditional space attire that we normally would see astronauts in real life wear, just with a couple of futuristic twists to it, as well.
This features a large orb-like glass visor with dedicated ears of your race attached to the helmet. It also features essentially an exoskeleton frame and a baggy, but surprisingly sleeveless space suit underneath. Why you would go out in space with your arms exposed is beyond us.
Regardless, obtaining it isn’t exactly the easiest of tasks. You will need to earn at least 1,000 Oizys Credits in Cosmic Exploration through the various activities or missions scattered across the area.
After that, you’ll need to talk to Orbitingway at base (X: 18.2 Y: 24.4) and spend the 1,000 credits on the roulette mini-game. There’s no guarantee the Powersuit Coffer will appear in the options, but when it does, be sure to select the more ideal roulette wheel for a chance of obtaining it.
Alternatively, the chest itself is tradeable, meaning that it’s also available on the marketboard. It will cost you a pretty gil, but it’s more than worth it if you don’t want to engage in the Cosmic Exploration aspect.
