As players explore the vast world of Nioh 3, they will come in contact with many locked doors that halt progression. This can be frustrating as it can lead you wondering where to go next, or it prevents you from completing everything a region has to offer.
One example is the locked door at Hamamatsu Hill, which requires a key to open. Since the map is so large in Nioh 3, you probably don’t want to spend hours searching everywhere for this specific key. No worries, I don’t blame you.
Apparently It Wasn’t Tough Enough: Team Ninja Is Adding an Even Harder Difficulty to Nioh 3
Beating Nioh 3 will just unlock a harder beginning!
Luckily, getting the Hamamatsu Hill key is easier than you think, and this guide explains that. Read further to learn how to get the Hamamatsu Hill key in Nioh 3.
How to Get the Hamamatsu Hill Key in Nioh 3
Simply put, players can’t obtain the Hamamatsu Hill key to enter the base until they reach a certain point in the story. If the door is locked to you, and you don’t have the key, it simply means you aren’t far enough in the main quest.
Players will acquire the Hamamatsu Hill key, which is called the “Mountain Temple Key,” after completing the Fated Land quest at Ryotan Temple. Once that quest is completed, Li Naotora returns to Hamamatsu Castle, allowing you to engage in conversation with her there. She will hand over the Mountain Temple Key after speaking to her, starting the “Li’s Memento” quest.
The Li’s Memento quest naturally brings you back to Hamamatsu Hill enemy base, where you can interact with the locked gate and open it with the Mountain Temple Key. Inside are five Yokai enemies, and it’s your job to defeat them all to cleanse the enemy base and bring it back to its natural order.
Nioh 3: How to Beat Takeda Shingen (All Fights)
Takeda Shingen is a pivotal foe fought several times in Nioh 3, starting out as a man before transforming into a massive demonic beast.
After defeating all five Yokai, head up to the top of the enemy base to find a Revenant and defeat it in combat. This Revenant is harder than most that you find from Bloody Graves, so be prepared to put in your best effort.
Once you are done with this enemy base, you will increase your exploration level for the Hamamatsu Hill region, bringing you a step closer in your journey to completing everything the game has to offer.
To complete Li’s Memento quest, fast-travel back to Hamamatsu Castle and speak to Li Naotora. Doing so will earn you rewards for your efforts.
Li’s Memento Quest Rewards
Once you have completed the Li’s Memento quest by completing the enemy base in Hamamatsu Hill and speaking to Li Naotora, you will be rewarded with Samurai’s Locks and Sincere Buddha’s Gauntlets.
Samurai’s Locks can be used to unlock additional Martial Arts in the Samurai skill tree, allowing you to further expand your combo-kit. Additionally, the Sincere Buddha’s Gauntlets are strong pieces of armor that are worth it at this point in the game, so I definitely recommend equipping them as soon as possible.
Lastly, completing the Li’s Memento quest in Nioh 3 will allow you to unlock additional side quests for more valuable rewards. You still have a long way to go till the end, so keep pushing.
Nioh 3: How To Beat Baba Nobuharu
Baba Nobuharu is one of Nioh 3’s trickiest bosses, as it’s a giant demon who hides behind illusions when it fights, making it hard to parry or dodge.
