ARC Raiders - Worth Your Salt Quest Bugged in New Shrouded Sky Update

Worth your Salt is a new quest released in the huge ARC Raiders Shrouded Sky update, released Tuesday, February 24. Along with a selection of new quests, a brand-new Hurricane Map Condition was implemented with some sleek new ARC Units to chase down unsuspecting Raiders.

Thousands of players flocked to the Spaceport map, eager to complete the new Worth Your Salt quest. However, they were stopped in their tracks at the final hurdle.

ARC Raiders: How to Complete the Clean Dream Quest

This guide explains how to complete the Clean Dream Quest in ARC Raiders.

With the last step of the quest unfinishable, players threw down their batteries and jumped online searching for an answer. Failing that, players were left simply waiting for the development team to push out a patch.

How is the Quest Broken?

Quests are a pivotal mechanic in ARC Raiders, unlocking plenty of handy items and blueprints while laying out the story of the surviving underground Raiders and their struggle to survive in the surrounding chaos.

In addition, main quests begin new questchains, with more missions locked behind them. Having an uncompleteable quest is indeed frustrating, especially for players with little time on their hands.

Most quests in ARC Raiders are a pretty simple affair: head to a map, collect an item or interact with some machinery, perhaps kill some rampaging machines, and head back down to Speranza to finish up. This quest is no different. Players simply had to head to the Rocket Assembly area on the Spaceport map and charge a battery to bring home.

However, once players had charged the battery and were about to place it in the final vessel for delivery, they quickly realised it was an impossible task. Well, impossible if someone had already done it before you. Only the first person to reach the box could complete the quest, and this is on a map with over 20 players per round.

By the time players realised what was happening, everyone had begun crowding around the box and throwing down their batteries in frustration, or simply rolling their eyes, wondering why this hadn’t been playtested with more than one person. Quests don’t usually work this way in ARC Raiders, so why now?

Finding a Solution

The thing is, this isn’t the first time players have struggled with this type of quest in ARC Raiders. Many will remember the struggle to find the Deforester on the Blue Gate map and loot it while every other player was trying to do the exact same thing.

Only the first person to reach the box could complete the quest, and this is on a map with over 20 players per round.

Once one person had inserted their Powercells and solved the fire puzzle, the Deforester became unusable to the rest of the players, who were waiting their turn (or killing everyone in the surrounding area).

Through the fire and flames!

Unfortunately, the solution here seems to be identical to the previous quest. If you’re desperate to complete Worth Your Salt, you’ll simply have to get lucky on the following points:

  • Spawn in at minute 30, and not halfway through a match.
  • Hope that you spawn near the Rocket Assembly.
  • Pray the other players aren’t doing the same thing as you.

You can, of course, try to kill others who are trying to complete the quest, but for those who don’t enjoy engaging in the PvP aspect of ARC Raiders, this isn’t a solution at all.

Instead, it’s been rumoured that this quest is easier to complete when there’s a map condition in play, like the new Hurricane event, as players are more focused on looting the map rather than completing quests. So if you’re completely out of options, that’s the next best thing. Otherwise, players will simply have to wait for a patch.
