Outside In Theatre’s ArtSpace will deliver a brand-new weekly improvised show starting this weekend.
Fantastic Tales will bring a team of improvisers into the world of the Victorian era. Improvisers slated for this weekly show include Daniel Blinkoff, Ted Cannon, Eric Carthen, Paul Hungerford, Kimberly Lewis, Joseph Limbaugh, Gabi Marler, Mateo Mpinduzi-Mott, and Kari Vanegas.
A synopsis for Fantastic Tales reads:
Inspired by the speculative imagination of the turn-of-the-century and late Victorian era, Fantastic Tales explores moments in which human curiosity presses beyond familiar limits and invention outpaces understanding. These improvised stories attend both to the marvels such inquiry brings and to the quieter consequences it leaves in its wake.
You are invited to observe as a company of actors, without script or foreknowledge, brings forth original tales in the instant of performance—works that exist only briefly, before returning to the shadows, asking not what wonders may be achieved, but what they may demand in return.
Fantastic Tales will have its preview performance this Sunday at 8 p.m. for $15. The show will continue running every Sunday at 8 p.m. through April 19 for a $20 ticket price. Tickets for the show can be purchased here. Outside In Theatre is located on 5317 York Blvd. More information about the venue can be found here.
