Resident Evil Requiem is finally here, and it’s a nerve-wracking experience for first-time players fighting for their lives. Rhodes Hill Care Center is particularly ruthless, which is why you are tasked with escaping it.
There’s just one problem: the entire building is on lockdown, with the only way out being the front door, which won’t unlock unless three different quartz are inserted: the Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz.
Resident Evil Requiem: Where to Find All Blood Crafting Vials
In Resident Evil Requiem, you have the ability to craft all kinds of things to fit your needs — so long as you find the recipes.
The Moon Quartz is thankfully relatively easy to obtain, but the Sun Quartz requires you to do a bit of running around. In fact, in true Resident Evil fashion, it requires you to do a healthy amount of backtracking.
Thankfully, we know how to open the box, so you don’t have to try and worry about the guesswork.
Where to Find the Sun Puzzle Box
And the Corrosive
You can find the Sun Puzzle Box itself pretty easily, as it’s in the Lead Researcher’s Office. However, you’ll quickly realise that the box is shut tight with no way to open it, that is, until you read one of the letters that are strewn about the office. This letter details using a corrosive to melt away the metal lock, which is exactly what we need to grab.
The Corrosive can be found in the Conference Room, right by some Patient Medical Records, which is a file that you’ll need to read/collect for the Case Closed trophy.
There are also some pretty tough enemies in the Conference Room, so be ready to sink or swim.
Regardless, after you get the corrosive, you can head back to the Lead Researcher’s Office and open the box.
Resident Evil Requiem: Where to Find Artificial Lungs and Heart (+How to Open Organ Transport Box)
What’s creepier than a dead body? A dead body with no organs. What’s creepier than that? Having to find and insert those organs into the corpse.
How to Open the Puzzle Box
While you’re in the Lead Researcher’s Office, you’ll see three different pictures that you can read/collect, but one of them, Lead Researcher’s Picture 1, already has a small hint for you in the background of the image. If you look closely, you’ll see that the Sun Puzzle Box is there, with the last two buttons already pressed: Moon, Sun.
Just like with the Moon Puzzle Box, the Sun Puzzle Box starts and ends with the sun itself, which turns the code into Sun, blank, Moon, Sun — and considering we hadn’t used the star button yet, it’s a safe (and correct) assumption that it goes there.
With that, we have our code with a little bit of easy reasoning: Sun, Star, Moon, Sun.
After you input the code, not only will you get the Sun Quartz that you’ve been looking for, but you’ll also find a leather-bound journal with two additional files inside. One is plot relevant, and the other is how to open the organ box.
