Crimson Desert‘s rating continues to climb, and Pearl Abyss is keeping the momentum going as Patch 1.01 has just been released, and it’s overflowing with quality of life improvements and highly-requested content.
The continent of Pywel offers gamers seemingly endless exploration and several different modes of transportation, with mounts being the most-used, but up until this patch, the mount options were limited.
Crimson Desert Boss Says Multiplayer Requires Graphical Sacrifices

The latest patch introduces five new permanent mounts, including legendary animals and boss mounts, as well as a long list of improvements to controls and combat.
Crimson Desert Patch 1.01 Focuses on Mounts and Movement
Players will now be able to obtain and summon the following new mounts:
- Legendary Animals: White Bear, Silver Fang, Snowwhite Deer
- Boss’ Mounts: Rock Tusk Warthog, Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
Not only are there more mount options now available, but movement has also received a considerable amount of love and attention. When riding a mount or running, movement speed will no longer decrease even if the running key isn’t being held continuously.
Players will no longer have to spam the running key, as movement speed can now be increased by holding it down, or tapping it once, while maintaining full sprint will still require you to tap the running button periodically.
It appears Pearl Abyss has put a big focus on making it easier for players to get around, as stamina consumption has been reduced for flight, aerial swing, and aerial maneuver.

An unintended issue with the aerial stab ability has been fixed, as players discovered they could use the ability repeatedly to cover large distances. Aerial stab’s stamina cost will now increase with each consecutive use.
There’s also new loot waiting to be discovered, as additional chests containing various resources have been scattered throughout Pywel.
Refinement Tokens have also been added, which can be obtained by completing main or faction quests, and will allow players to upgrade their equipment without using additional materials.
