Xbox June Showcase Announced, Followed By Gears of War: E-Day Direct

Mark it in your calendars, Xbox Games Showcase 2026 has been confirmed for June 7, 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK.

Right now, we don’t know exactly what’s going to feature in the event, but we do know that right after it will be a Gears of War: E-Day Direct, which promises to” take players into the start of Emergence Day, offering new details, gameplay and insights about the hugely anticipated origin story to the Gears of War saga.

It’s a pretty safe bet that the Gears portion of the show will probably see the prequel to the original game announced for PlayStation 5 as well, unless Microsoft is planning some sort of timed exclusivity. Right now, it’s a little hard to be 100% sure since Microsoft itself is not completely consistent with its plans, and new Xbox boss Asha Sharma might still want to shake things up. Again.

“We’ll begin the day with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, including first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles from our first-party studios across the Xbox family, as well as our third-party partners around the globe – from the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings,” says the Xbox Wire post.

So, what’s likely to show up? Well, it looks like we might learn throughout the week, as the post also says: “The double feature also kicks off a week’s worth of coverage here on Xbox Wire, the Official Xbox Podcast, and the Xbox YouTube channel, featuring updates, extra details, and deep-dives on many of the games you’ll see in the show.”

Likely bets for games to appear on the show include Fable, Forza Horizon 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved.

But let’s talk more speculative, shall we? Clockwork Revolution hasn’t appeared in a while, so maybe a new trailer and a release date? State of Decay 3 feels like it’s in some sort of crazy limbo right now, thus it would be a great time for it to appear and put everyone’s minds at ease. And maybe that Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas remaster/remake that keeps floating about finally pops up?

Leave your guesses in the comments. Winner gets….er, Internet kudos, I guess.
