Capcom has another success to its credit. Released in March 2019, Devil May Cry 5 is still going strong, with sales that are absolutely impressive for a title that one might expect to be showing its age.
In fact, the Japanese publisher revealed that between March 2025 and March 2026, the game sold 2.7 million copies worldwide. The previous record was 2.1 million units during the title’s first year on the market.
This phenomenon can be attributed to the popularity of the Netflix animated series, but also to the frequent major promotions applied to Devil May Cry 5. The game has now sold 12.9 million copies since its release, making it Capcom’s biggest hit outside of the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises.
Finally, Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition will be released on June 23 on Switch 2.
