While Sony has not yet commented on the release date for God of War Laufey, rumors suggest a release is relatively imminent. In fact, various industry rumors claim that the launch could take place during the first half of 2027.
A new clue seems to support this. PlayStation sent an email (which we received) to its community this week. In this promotional message, the Japanese company states that the game “is coming soon to PlayStation 5 consoles.”
“Death was supposed to be the end, but for Laufey (Faye), warrior and wife of Kratos, a new adventure has just begun.
In God of War Laufey, coming soon to PlayStation 5 consoles, join her in the Empyrean, a land of dangerous magic, as she fights her way through the realm beyond the gods to save those she holds dear.”
Of course, “coming soon” remains fairly generic and ultimately vague. But if PlayStation is taking the trouble to notify its users of the game’s arrival, it shouldn’t be too long now.
