We finally know how much Grand Theft Auto VI will cost, and it’s under the $100 that people were quick to throw-about for the game that we’re all going to buy, regardless of price.
Rockstar has confirmed that the price will be $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition.
Preorders for the game are set to open on June 25, 2026, ahead of its planned November 19, 2026 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The pricing places GTA 6 above the $69.99 price point used by many major console releases during the current generation, but below some earlier speculation that the standard version could launch at $100.
Harking back to my ever-so-useful Economics undergraduate degree, given the inelasticity of demand, I think they could have got away with more. But that’s not to say there won’t be plenty of in-game purchases after the initial outlay to keep Take-Two’s coffers prim and proper.
It has been reported that boxed copies of GTA 6 will contain a download code rather than a game disc, with physical versions released early on November 12, 2026 to support preloading. A lot of money for a box with a piece of paper in it, I guess.
Standard and Ultimate Edition both to contain Vintage Vice City Pack
The Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition will both qualify for the Vintage Vice City Pack if preordered or purchased before November 20, 2026.
I don’t even have a console right now, but given the frenzy and furor, I’m tempted to pre-order. Just to be part of the gang, you know. Plus, there’s plenty you get included simply for purchasing the biggest game of the year ahead of its release.
What’s in the Vintage Vice City Pack?
The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach. Within the garage there’s a weapon locker and a secure place to deposit stolen goods for fencing.
The preorder pack also includes outfits and hairstyles for both protagonists. Jason receives a vintage pastel linen suit and decade-themed hairstyle, while Lucia receives a red sequin mini dress and curls. The pack also includes a weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s palm tree shirt from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
What are the vehicle and weapon bonuses in the Ultimate Edition?
The Ultimate Edition adds a wider set of in-game vehicles, weapons, clothing, customization options, shops, and activities. Ultimate Edition bonuses are integrated across Jason and Lucia’s story, with new items unlocked behind each chapter.
Vehicle bonuses include the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, a mid-1990s sports car with a retro-futuristic livery, as well as Jason’s safehouse vehicles: a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and Crest Kayak. The edition also includes a Shitzu Squalo watercraft docked at Washington Beach and a ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy stored at Paradise Garage in Watson Bay. Like Shore Court, Paradise Garage includes a weapon locker and a place to deposit stolen goods.
Weapon bonuses include Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, described in the source copy as his-and-hers revolvers with Vice City styling, palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, and a high-performance scope. The Ultimate Edition also includes personalized engraved variants of Jason’s Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistol.
What else do I get if I preorder the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
The edition also unlocks several customization locations and content sets. Rideout Customs focuses on vehicle interiors, rims, and donk styling. Sara’s Unisex Salon includes hairstyles, facial hair for Jason, and makeup and nails for Lucia. Stock 305 offers exclusive streetwear, while Electric Fang Tattoo includes more than 50 tattoos for both protagonists designed by FAILE. One-Eyed Willie’s in Lake Leonida specializes in off-road modifications and hand-painted automotive art.
Other cool things to make you look and feel badass include the Ganado Retro Build mod kit for Jason’s Vapid Ganado pickup, Vice City Style cosmetics, Goodtime Gear apparel inspired by Macca the Gator, access to the PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store gang compound activity, and the Classic Car Collection commission from Wyman, which involves finding and restoring abandoned classic and project cars.
