Xbox reportedly has an exclusive deal for streaming GTA 6 at launch via Xbox Cloud Gaming, marking a significant move in the gaming landscape.
The major headline in the Xbox world today revolves around a report from Pure Xbox that Xbox has secured an exclusive streaming deal for GTA 6 at launch through its Cloud Gaming service. This would be a significant boost for Microsoft’s cloud ambitions, offering players unique access to one of the most anticipated titles of the year. The specifics around the duration of the exclusivity remain unclear, but Xbox boss Asha Sharma emphasized its importance, claiming it’s a first of its kind initiative in the gaming industry.
In other Xbox developments, Asha Sharma has been quite vocal about Xbox’s future directions. As reported by Pure Xbox, during a company Town Hall meeting, she hinted that the upcoming Xbox Project Helix will not be the sole next-gen console under the Xbox brand. It will be part of a broader “family” of devices, some developed internally and others by external partners, indicating a more diversified hardware strategy moving forward.
At the same Town Hall event, Sharma also discussed Xbox’s recent performance recovery. According to a Pure Xbox report, she stated that Xbox has “started to return to growth,” with increases in engagement metrics such as hours spent, and praised the successful launches of games like Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and World of Warcraft: Forever.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers also have reasons to rejoice, as two more games have been added to the service. Among these is Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, a surprise entry that was shadow dropped without any official announcement. The game is now available to play for Ultimate subscribers, showcasing another advantage of the subscription model as it continues to deliver unexpected updates.
Among the quieter news, Gear.Club Unlimited 3 has launched, offering racing game fans a new playground in Japan. Additionally, the classic Kingdom Hearts Collection [I～III] is out, bundling together the beloved series on a single platform.
