The Hammerhead Choppa is Fortnite‘s new take on the Choppa for Chapter 6 Season 4.
The Hammerhead Choppa functions similarly to the Choppa of old, but now it has a new look — similar to the Hornet from the Halo series. The Hammerhead Choppa’s main use is to transport you and your squad mates to distant destinations as it doesn’t have any weapons on board, but passengers can still rain fire from above with whatever weapons you have in your loadout.
For two of week 3’s quests, you’ll need to get into a Choppa, but there’s only a limited number of them and players are flocking towards them at the start of each game. To help you complete the quests as soon as possible, we’ve listed where to find all the Hammerhead Choppas in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 and how to control them.
All Hammerhead Choppa locations in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4
There are six Hammerhead Choppas found on the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 map:
- One at the Infected Outpost to the northwest of Supernova Academy
- Three at the O.X.R. HQ
- One at the Infected Outpost to the north of Canyon Crossing
- One at the Infected Outpost to the west of Kappa Kappa Factory
The Hammerhead Choppas are guaranteed to spawn at each of these locations, so if you don’t find one at any of these locations, it means another player has yoinked your ride. If you want to complete the week 3 quest, we recommend landing at any of the listed locations to get into a Hammerhead Choppa as soon as possible.
How to control the Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4
As soon as you get into a Hammerhead Choppa, you’ll need to learn how to take this new joyride for a spin. To lift off, you can either press the jump or primary fire button, and to descend, press the aim or alternate fire button. As for the Hammerhead Choppa’s other controls, they function similarly to other vehicles found in Fortnite. You can control the Hammerhead Choppa’s direction with your movement controls, whether that’s WASD on the keyboard or the left joystick on the controller. You can give yourself a short boost by pressing the sprint button, and switch seats by pressing the crouch button. Lastly, you can turn on the loudspeakers by pressing the quick chat message button, which is B on the keyboard or down on the D-pad on the controller.
How to hit opponents beyond 50 meters while in the Hammerhead Choppa in Fortnite
If you’re playing solo, it may seem impossible to complete the week 3 mission, but it’s actually possible to complete on your own. If you’re able to grab a Hammerhead Choppa and see an enemy somewhere below you, switch seats to make the Choppa hover in place. You’ll be free to shoot at opponents, but you will be somewhat of a sitting duck while you’re not in the driver’s seat. The Choppa does have a fair amount of health, but if you start taking a lot of damage, make sure to swap back to the driver’s seat and take off!
