Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Now Lets You Play Its Endgame Extraction Mode Without Having to Finish the Campaign

You can now finally play the endgame extraction shooter mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, even if you haven’t completed its campaign.

On a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) by Treyarch, they announced that the endgame mode will now be available to everyone starting on November 21, Friday.

This means players won’t have to go through possibly the worst campaign in Call of Duty history. Now, all they have to do is boot the game and go straight to the endgame!

Meanwhile, for those who have already completed the campaign before the changes, they’ll be rewarded with some stuff instead. Specifically, they’ll get perks like double level XP tokens, double weapon XP tokens, double Battle Pass XP tokens, and Perkaholic Gobblegums.

This change could possibly be due to complaints from players regarding Black Ops 7’s lackluster campaign.

In fact, a lot of them even argue that the campaign might just be the worst they’ve played this year.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the exact numbers as Activision didn’t reveal Black Ops 7’s weekend game stats when they posted on X (formerly Twitter).

If we take a look at Steam Hunters, only 18.5% of players on Steam have actually completed the campaign. However, this isn’t an accurate representation, as there are lots of other players on Xbox and PlayStation.

Regardless, it seems that the decision to open up the endgame for everyone comes after Treyarch realized only a small percentage of the playerbase managed to finish the campaign.

Black Ops 7’s Extraction Style Endgame is Now Open for Everyone

Back then, the only way players could access Black Ops 7’s endgame extraction-shooter style mode was to finish the campaign.

Sadly, a lot of players didn’t actually find it compelling. The fact that it has an always-online requirement and can’t even be paused didn’t add to its appeal at all.

However, Treyarch’s decision seems to stem from the fact that those who played the endgame actually liked it.

In the previously mentioned post, they stated:

Needless to say, this announcement garnered a handful of positive reactions from the playerbase. Obviously, a lot of them were thankful that they no longer had to go through the slog of playing the campaign.

Lots also expressed their appreciation for the game’s endgame, with some saying it’s dope, fun, and feels good to play.

Despite all that, there were some comments saying that while this is a good change, they experienced random disconnects that halted their endgame progress.

So who knows? This might be the next fix Treyarch is going to look into.
