Since its first release in September 2003, Steam has continued to attract more and more users. More than 22 years after its launch, Valve’s platform has set a new record.
This January 4, 2026, Steam had 41.8 million users connected at the same time. Of these users, 13.4 million were playing simultaneously.
The previous record was set at 41.666 million simultaneous players last October.
