Another summer approaches, and with it comes the onslaught of video game announcements. Xbox announced that its annual showcase, the 2026, will air on June 7th, 2026, at 1 pm EST. The usual announcements and new looks from both first-party and third-party studios are to be expected.
Xbox also announced that a focused deep dive into the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day will take place right after the showcase. Initially shown off in the same series of showcases back in 2024, Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel, set during the first Locus invasion, focused on the beginnings of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago’s story. We haven’t seen it since then, but it’s still expected to launch sometime this year. The Direct will offer a bunch of new information on the upcoming title, including gameplay.
