It seems like every map in Far Far West has a secret to uncover, and the desert is no exception to that rule. This one can be a bit tougher than the bell quest and will probably take a good chunk of time.
While it might be a bit tougher to complete, the reward is well worth it. You’ll be heading to the desert area for this one, and you don’t need to bring anything specific, although you can play on a harder difficulty, which might make it a bit annoying to complete the first time.
This guide will provide all the information you need to get through the quest and get the rewards. It’s a fairly long one, but once you have all the information, it should be easy enough to complete even in this FPS mayhem.
10 FPS Games That Reward Exploration
There’s plenty of goodies to be found if you just look through your scope.
Completing the Cactus Quest
For this quest, you’ll find a lot of different cacti scattered around the map. There are specifically six different-looking large cacti and six different-looking small cacti.
The ultimate goal here is to return all the small cacti to their parent cacti, which look similar. Figuring out which one goes to which isn’t the hard part; finding those cacti is much more difficult.
You can do them in whatever order you like. Below is simply the order in which I completed them, but the only requirement is to unite all six adults with their children.
You cannot mount while holding these, so you’ll have to jump-dash your way to the parent cacti.
The Fishing Cacti
This little one hasn’t strayed too far from their parent cacti. In the southern part of the map, you’ll find a small lake, and along its bank will be a small cactus with a fishing rod.
Grab the cactus and head north until you hit the river. Once at the river, follow it east until you find the fork in the river and follow the part that goes north. This should lead you just past a marauder camp.
You’ll find the parent cacti just past the waterfall next to the camp, and there’s a broken record piece just underneath the waterfall for you to grab as well. That’s one down, just five more to go.
13 Best Non-Competitive Co-op Games
Whether you’re playing with a partner or a friend, sometimes, the best times in gaming are sharing it with someone else.
The Rock Cacti
In the north-eastern part of the map, you’ll come across a few small pyramids. On top of one side of these pyramids is a small cactus with a rock on its head. You can get up to it by jumping and dashing forward onto the next level.
Head directly south and go just past the river. You’ll find this parent sitting just before the entrance to the bridge that crosses the small river to the little island. With that one done, there are just four more to go.
The Bones Cacti
Just south of Dr. Spark-Twist’s location, the orange cowboy symbol on the map, you’ll find a small river that ends towards the center of the map. There should be a large bone structure there, and underneath it is our small cactus.
From here, you can pretty much head dead west. This one is a little annoying since you’ll need to go through a few tunnels to really find what you’re looking for.
If you’re coming from the east, then when you exit the tunnels on the west side, the adult cactus should be just on your right. Now you’re halfway done, which isn’t too bad.
The Flower Cacti
For the flower cacti, you’ll be heading to the northernmost part of the map. Along the shoreline, you should find a broken-down ship, and in that wreckage will be our little flower cacti.
You can run along the outside of the map to reach the adult cacti, but you’ll be heading back to the pyramids you visited earlier. You can skip the two that are close together and head for the one a little farther away from them.
Drop the little one off with the parent, and you’ll be golden. Now that’s four of the six, so you’re already almost done, thankfully.
The Bucket Cacti
This one is a bit of a pain to grab because it’s basically inside a Marauder camp. You’ll have to either be quick and grab the little guy on the north side of the camp or wipe out the enemies so you can grab them without too much trouble.
Either way you do it, the best way to move from here is to take one of the ziplines up the cliff face north of you and start heading north along the coastline. You’ll see a large broken arch in the distance, and just to the left of that is the adult cactus you’re after.
10 Best Low Stress FPS Games
Shooting doesn’t have to be stressful.
The Scrap Cacti
Just west of where you delivered the rock cactus, you’ll come across a ton of pipes moving between two large rocks. The small scrap cactus is on top of one of these pipes and is seemingly difficult to get to.
If you move over to it, you should be able to dash-jump onto the rocks underneath it and then jump up to the rock even with it. From there, you can grab it and start making your way southwest.
Off in the distance, you should see a structure spouting smoke, and just in front of that structure is the cactus you’re looking for. That should finish up the quest, and you’ll be all set whether you finish the mission or not.
Rewards
Much like with the bell quest, you’ll unlock another gun Joker augment for you to equip when you get back to the saloon. If you’re playing co-op, you may all need to do this individually, although it’s unclear how that works.
You’ll receive the Cactus Day Joker, which is a pretty solid early game Joker and will help you out in some situations. It does the following things:
- Cactus Day – +3% chance for a Cactus Mino to spawn when an enemy dies. Max 2.
This will spawn some of the cactus mines that you can summon from the first cactus spell. It can be a really helpful tool, especially when you’re getting run down by a ton of enemies.
Just remember, if you’re running a co-op game, it might be faster to have everyone split up for a bit just to get things done. Since you don’t need to extract to get the reward, there’s nothing wrong with throwing caution to the wind.
