With the arrival of Omega Planetes as a formidable and thrilling new challenge in the Final Fantasy XIV collaboration event, there’s an incredible variety of rewards for players to earn. Among those rewards are some dramatic new armor sets, including the Bale Armor.

Whether you want to use it for its impressive stats or simply add it to your layered armor wardrobe, the Bale Armor is a worthwhile grind. Here’s how to unlock it in the game and the materials you’ll need to craft the entire set.

How to Unlock Bale Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Bale Armor (alpha) set is a special addition to the game, courtesy of the 2025 Final Fantasy XIV collaboration event. As a Rarity 8 set with considerably good stats, it’s one that you may want to grind for, even if not for a layered armor look.

To unlock this set, you must first complete Extra Mission 5, which consists of ‘A Peak Predicament’ and ‘Invader From the Stars’. The latter sub-mission requires you to defeat the normal variant of Omega Planetes, whether solo or in a group. Make sure to prepare accordingly with plenty of restorative items and buffs, as this particular monster pulls no punches.

Also remember to make use of the Soul of the Pictomancer you’re given during the mission, as Pictomancer attacks are especially effective against Omega Planetes, and you can use them efficiently throughout the fight.

Once it’s slain, you’ll complete the mission and also unlock a variety of rewards, including the Bale Armor, which you can go view at the forge afterward.

How to Craft Bale Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds

As expected, you’ll need various monster materials carved or dropped from Omega Planetes in order to craft the Bale Armor. Even with Lucky Vouchers enabled, it’ll likely still take you a handful of clears to get the required amount for the entire set. Keep in mind that the Morbol Seedling Palico set also requires these particular materials, so if you’re going for the whole ensemble, prepare accordingly.

In all, you’ll need the following materials for each armor piece:

Bale Burgeonet (Head Piece)

  • Omega Data 1.0 x 1
  • Omega Screw x 6
  • Omega Spring x 3
  • Omega Pedal x 3

Bale Cuirass (Chest Piece)

Bale Gauntlets (Hand Piece)

  • Omega Data 1.0 x 1
  • Omega Screw x 4
  • Omega Lens x 3
  • Omega Nodule x 1

Bale Flanchard (Waist Piece)

  • Omega Data 1.0 x 1
  • Omega Spring x 4
  • Omega Axle x 3
  • Omega Nodule x 1

Bale Sollerets (Leg Piece)

  • Omega Data 1.0 x 1
  • Omega Screw x 5
  • Omega Lens x 2
  • Omega Axle x 2

While other armor sets in the game have both an alpha and beta armor set, the Bale Armor consists of just one full alpha set. It can be directly equipped if you like its specs and skills, or you can tuck it away as a layered armor option if you want to optimize a sleek Dark Knight-themed look that looks straight out of FFXIV’s highly acclaimed Shadowbringers expansion.

Furthermore, Omega Planetes is a permanent addition to the game, so no need to worry about missing out or having to rush the grind for all of the rewards!
