There’s been a lot of debate over just how commercially successful Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth have proven to be — but I was always of the mind that the remake trilogy would have serious legs.
In short, selling the second and third parts of a planned trilogy is always going to be difficult. Plenty of players will bounce off the first game, leading to a gradual decline in interest around its sequels.
