For several years now, Valve has allowed Steam users to purchase physical gift cards at various retailers. This has been a convenient way for players to buy the games of their choice directly from the store.
Unfortunately, the American company has announced that it will stop selling them to retailers worldwide. Valve explains its decision by pointing the finger at scammers who use these gift cards to deceive online users.
According to the company’s estimates, retailers will run out of stock by the end of the year. It will still be possible to purchase electronic gift cards. Valve also says it plans to introduce new ways to improve the customer experience.
- Security Camera Installation – indoor/outdoor IP CCTV systems & video analytics
- Access Control Installation – key card, fob, biometric & cloud‑based door entry
- Business Security Systems – integrated alarms, surveillance & access control
- Structured Cabling Services – voice, data & fiber infrastructure for new or existing builds
- Video Monitoring Services – 24/7 remote surveillance and analytics monitoring
