The beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is in full swing, and even though the game is set to get its full launch in just under a month on November 14, Treyarch is still eager to hear what feedback players have to give.
The developer has a reputation for being prompt about addressing criticism, and they’ve even already been dealing with a hacker issue in the beta.
It hasn’t just been fighting hackers, cheaters; they’ve released a list of changes coming to the beta based on what players have had to say about the gameplay.
They also have changed some things that were shown off before the beta, so they’re nothing if not receptive to feedback.
“We Welcome All Constructive Feedback”
The game’s associate creative director Miles Leslie (via GamesRadar+) has made Treyarch’s commitment to listening to the community clear, and, when asked if there was enough time to implement the changes players want so close to the game’s release, he said, “Oh, yeah, 1000%!”
We welcome all constructive feedback – “constructive” being the key thing here. – Miles Leslie
He goes on to acknowledge how much he and the team appreciate constructive feedback from the community, and that they “will be looking at everything,” although, even if Treyarch agrees with the feedback, they won’t always be able to implement things right away.
“Sometimes it’s not immediate, because these things are complex and we want to make changes in the right way,” he says. “But we are constantly looking at feedback; from beta to launch, launch into post-launch, we’ll always be looking for ways to make the game better for players.”
Hopefully that will work well with Treyarch’s efforts to make Black Ops 7 stand out and address series fatigue, especially when the competition from Battlefield 6 seems particularly strong this time around.
It’s good to know that Treyarch has been making the most of Black Ops 7’s open beta and is open to what their community has to say, so, as the studio’s associate director of design Lawrence Metten puts it, they can “make sure there are no blind spots.”
We want people to tell us how things feel, we want them to react and share feedback. We’re watching and we’re listening. If something isn’t quite there yet, we will continue to look into it. – Lawrence Metten
Just make sure that, as always, if you do have criticism you want Treyarch to see, it’s constructive, and it seems like there’s a good chance it’ll lead to change if enough others feel the same way.
