Hollow Knight: Silksong: How To Find The Warding Bell Crest

Hollow Knight: Silksong has a pretty hefty collection of items that will ultimately aid you a ton in trying to survive the harsh, brutal bug world you’re attempting to ascend.

One such thing are crests, which are equippable items that all come with some kind of substantial perk, power, or buff that can save you in many a pinch. In fact, it gets pretty difficult deciding between your options since so many can come in handy for different reasons.

One such crest you’re absolutely going to want to track down is the Warding Bell, which is a massive boon to your early game survivability odds. Head to the Far Fields, and I’ll show you how to track this crest down.

Where To Find The Warding Bell Crest

The Warding Bell is found at the bottom of the Far Fields. If you don’t know where this location on the map is yet, it’s where you’ll end up immediately after your first fight with Lace. Take her down, and you’ll be finished traversing Deep Docks. Simply head all the way to the right in Far Fields, and you’ll eventually hit the large room that the rest of these directions will refer to.

If you’ve already been to Far Fields and haven’t found the Warding Bell, let’s start off by heading to the fast travel location for the area, which is right by a bench in case you need to rest as well.

Head outside of the fast travel room, then simply head all the way to the bottom of this tall, vertical room. Take caution, as there is a pit of lava at the bottom as well. You don’t want to simply leap to the bottom without taking some caution, lest you wind up in a fiery grave.

Once you reach the bottom, you’ll head into the door to the left. Take care not to lose any masks to the giant, flying enemy that’s outside of this doorway.

Inside, you’ll find a dark, narrow hallway that seems totally empty. Not so fast! Jump upwards in the brightest section, and you can ledge grab and climb up into another room above you.

Take out the little enemy at the bottom if you wish, then head up to the top of the room.

You’ll find a bug corpse, and the prompt to “Take” an item, so make it so.

This is the Warding Bell, which at this point in the game is more than likely a crest you’ll want to head back to a bench to equip immediately.

Warding Bell Usage And Benefit

If you’re like me, you’ve probably died a couple of times in Silksong already due to trying to bind/heal when you don’t actually have a safe window to do so.

Warding Bell takes away the risk and required safety window to bind/heal for the rest of the game, as long as you keep it equipped.

Now, whenever you bind, Hornet will be surrounded by a force field which repels incoming attacks from enemies until you’ve successfully completed the entire healing animation.

Obviously, this will make the entire process of binding/healing much better, as you no longer need to worry about getting hit, taking even more damage, and losing all your silk in the process.
