Stray Children, the new RPG from Moon developers Onion Games with a combat system not unlike Undertale, will debut on October 30, 2025. The release date announcement appeared alongside a new trailer that shows exactly how the new game works. It also confirmed again it will be on the Switch and PC worldwide.
In Stray Children, our avatar happens upon a room filled with computers and, upon flicking a switch, gets pulled into a game world. However, it isn’t a happy one. All of the adults, known as Olders, turned into monstrous and dangerous opponents. Children live in a bastion trying to survive. As a newcomer, we venture outside and deal with these Olders, entering into turn-based battles with them. Like in Undertale, it is possible to attempt to dodge the foes’ bullet-hell style attacks in Stray Children or opt to choose a more pacifist approach. On our turns, we can choose to fight back or to attempt to talk to these people to find another way to handle the conflicts.

The folks at Onion Games are known for unusual games like Moon: Remix RPG, so Stray Children isn’t a surprise. In addition to these two, it’s worked on the roguelike Dandy Dungeon and Flappy Bird style kissing game Mon Amour. People from the team also previously worked on the PS2 kissing RPG Chulip.
Stray Children will come to the Switch and PC on October 30, 2025.
