If you’ve been playing games for the past few years, chances are you already know Escape From Tarkov is a big game. But it seems it’s big enough that even the parody game based on it is doing quite well.
Titled Escape From Duckov, the title is an obvious play from Tarkov, though its gameplay is quite different, as this is a PvE top-down looter shooter all set in a duck’s world.
Recently, the developers at Team Soda announced a major milestone, as this parody game is seriously moving some big numbers.
Escape From Duckov Is All Quacked Up
The announcement from the studio confirms that the game has sold over 500,000 units, and this is made even more impressive given that the game isn’t available on consoles.
The statement reads, What an exciting weekend for all ducks! More than 500,000 Ducklings have now joined the world of Duckov! At this moment, the entire dev team is quacking with joy and flapping our wings in excitement! A heartfelt thank-you to every single Duckling for your incredible support — together, we’ve reached this truly meaningful Duckov milestone!”
The studio adds that they are making sure every update lives up to player expectations.
You know what’s even crazier? Just yesterday, Escape From Duckov had more than double the players of Hollow Knight: Silksong — at least on PC. We’re not saying Duckov is as good as Team Cherry’s Metroidvania sequel, but the fact that this unknown game managed to beat the player count of one of this year’s best games is impressive.
