There is no shortage of eerie and unsettling maps to explore in Phasmophobia, and Nell’s Diner is one of the latest to join the roster. Introduced with the game’s Nell’s Diner update (v0.15.0.0), this map sends paranormal investigators to an abandoned diner in the middle of nowhere. Despite the presence of a running cop car, there’s no one to be found here, except you.
Nell’s Diner comes with its own set of unique interactive features, quirks, and challenges for you to learn while tracking down the ghosts that haunt its halls. Here’s how to get started with Nell’s Diner in Phasmophobia.
How to Unlock Nell’s Diner in Phasmophobia
To unlock Nell’s Diner in Phasmophobia, you simply need to download the game’s Nell’s Diner update (v0.15.0.0) released on November 11, 2025. There are no other confirmed prerequisites (e.g. — character level or prestige rank) for unlocking the map. Once your game is fully updated, you should be good to go.
On the map selection board in the main lobby, Nell’s Diner will be in the top row between 10 Ridgeview Court and Grafton Farmhouse (as seen above).
How to Complete Nell’s Diner Discovery Challenge in Phasmophobia
The Nell’s Diner Discovery Challenge is a permanent Event Board challenge added as part of Phasmophobia’s Nell’s Diner update (v0.15.0.0). Interact with the Event Board in the game’s main lobby, and you’ll find the challenge’s brochure in the top right corner (as seen above).
To complete this challenge, you need to correctly identify the ghost at Nell’s Diner and survive for a total of 50 contracts. As you successfully complete these contracts, you can track your progress via the progress gauge at the bottom of the Nell’s Diner Discovery brochure. Once you finish the last qualifying contract for this challenge, you’ll receive its respective reward in the form of the Nomad ID Card and Badge via the Debriefing menu of that last contract.
How to Complete Nell’s Diner Weekly Challenge (Open For Business) in Phasmophobia
The addition of the Nell’s Diner map in Phasmophobia (v0.15.0.0 update) has also added another optional weekly challenge called ‘Open For Business‘. Similar to other weekly challenges in the game, you need to successfully complete at least three contracts while this challenge is toggled active to obtain its hefty $5,000 reward. Also, you can only use the preset equipment loadout that’s provided as part of the challenge. Thankfully, the loadout itself is comprised of Tier 3 equipment across the board, with nothing missing, so you’ll be well-stocked to deal with whatever ghostly culprit lurks within the diner.
Other things to note for this challenge are that it’ll feature Windy weather (added as part of the Nell’s Diner update; seen below) and most doors in the diner will start open in an attempt to throw you off the ghost’s scent. The Windy weather in question doesn’t have any passive effects on ghost behavior and is more ambient than anything. The wind can’t be heard indoors, so it won’t inhibit your ability to hear ghost activity.
Also, the breaker will be readily available, which is a rare treat with weekly challenges. While this helps preserve your sanity, don’t be shy about making use of Night Vision Goggles to find your way in the dark when necessary.
Note that all you need to do for your contracts to qualify as completed in the challenge is correctly identify the ghost and then return to headquarters alive (if you’re in a group, at least one person must survive to do this). You’re not required to fulfill the three optional objectives given during the contract or collect any media evidence. Once you know the ghost’s identity, simply leave and end the contract.
Once you complete the third required contract for the challenge, you’ll receive the $5,000 as a bonus alongside the rest of the points you accrued for that contract in your Debriefing menu.
The Open For Business weekly challenge is available from the release of the Nell’s Diner update until the weekly timer resets on November 16, 2025. After that point, the challenge will become a permanent addition to the game’s roster of weekly challenges. If you missed the opportunity to participate during the challenge’s initial debut, you’ll have to wait until it appears again as part of the randomized weekly rotation cycle.

All Nell’s Diner Hiding Spots in Phasmophobia
Since Nell’s Diner in Phasmophobia is a small-tier map, that means there are fewer hiding spots to use during hunts. In all, there’s a total of four potential hiding spots, including:
- Lockers in the Break Room (seen above)
- Behind a Food Cart in the Cooler Room
- Behind the Blue Vending Machine in the Hallway area
- Behind a Food Cart in the Storage Room
Note that the availability of these hiding spots is contingent on your current difficulty/challenge settings. The higher your difficulty is set, the fewer hiding spots that will be available to use. You especially want to make note of this if you’re playing with a group.
- Security Camera Installation – indoor/outdoor IP CCTV systems & video analytics
- Access Control Installation – key card, fob, biometric & cloud‑based door entry
- Business Security Systems – integrated alarms, surveillance & access control
- Structured Cabling Services – voice, data & fiber infrastructure for new or existing builds
- Video Monitoring Services – 24/7 remote surveillance and analytics monitoring
