The Beginning

After the initial prologue, you’ll find yourself on an island. Head right, down the stairs along the beach.

Up ahead, you’ll spot an opening in the sewer on your right.

Go inside. Keep moving forward, following the light. You’ll spot a locked gate on your right. You’ll need the Coastal Key to open it.

Head to the end of the corridor. You’ll spot a door on your right with a green flare at the bottom, keeping it open. Head through the door.

You’ll spot the Coastal Key along with the Journal: They’re Gone on the table at the end of the room. Pick them up.

Return to the locked gate from earlier and use the Coastal Key to unlock it. Head inside and pick up the items.

The First Save Point

Continue moving forward. Ignore the creepy sound. You’re not in any danger at the moment.

You’ll reach a room with a spiral staircase going around the room.

Go up the stairs and drop down on the right to reach a new section.

You’ll spot a Pickaxe on the floor up ahead. Pick it up and equip it. You now have a weapon.

Go through the door and into the small room up ahead.

Break the wooden beams with your Pickaxe using the primary attack button.

NOTE: You can also break the crates using your pickaxe to find some health items.

Continue forward and go in through the door at the end of the dark passage.

Break the two crates to open the path forward. Then run to the end of the path and through the gate.

Pick up the Bandage from the table and continue heading forward. You’ll find another gate barred with wooden beams. Break it using your Pickaxe‘s secondary attack.

Up ahead, you’ll find the first Save Point. Save your progress and then use the switch on the left to open the shutter. Head through.

The Foreman Key Switch

As you enter the new section, turn right immediately. You’ll spot a switch behind a locked grill. You’ll need to find the Foreman Key to use the switch.

There’s a closed shutter next to the “Unfair” wall. This is the exit, but to open it, you’ll have to activate all five Foreman Key switches.

This area can get a bit confusing. So before you do anything, explore and try to find the location of each of these switches. Once you pick up the Foreman Key, you’ll be chased by a Brute.

The second key is a small room in the right corner of the zone

The third one is inside a small room in the middle of the zone.

The fourth one is located in the left section of the zone in a corner.

You’ll find the final one in a dark passage with green flares on the ground.

Break the crates up ahead using your Pickaxe. You’ll find the Foreman Key on the table next to another Journal.

Pick up the Foreman Key and activate the switches while avoiding the Brute that spawns. He’s slow, and you can dash into him to stagger him as you run for the exit.

Use the switch on the other side to close the shutter behind you.

Continue forward to find a save point up ahead. If you took damage, you can use the health items you’ve been picking up so far to heal up.

When you’re ready, go left from the save point and use the switch to open the shutter to the next section.

Solving The Four Dial Puzzle

Go forward and drop down to the lower level. Continue moving forward and turn left at the dead end to spot a tunnel.

Head through the tunnel and keep moving till you spot a locked gate on your right. This requires the Tunnel Key.

You’ll see a symbol on the wall directly opposite the gate. This will come into play in a moment.

Continue along the passage till you reach a round chamber. There are four pillars in the center of the chamber.

On three of these pillars, you’ll find a dial with a rotatable arrow around it. Each dial has a unique symbol. The third symbol is unreadable.

Check the floor of the pillar with the missing dial to find the fourth dial. It’s an Omega. To solve this puzzle, you need to figure out where the arrow on each dial should point.

Head toward the locked gate at the end of the room and crouch down. You’ll spot the Sword symbol on the wall behind the gate near some candles. The arrow points to 6 o’clock.

Turn right and head through the tunnel (between the Sword and Om symbol pillars).

This will lead you to a switch. Use the switch to open the nearby shutter.

Head inside and pick up the Tunnel Key from the table. Turn around and you’ll spot the Omega symbol drawn on a boulder. Note the position of the arrow (9 o’clock).

Return to the locked gate from earlier and use the key to open it. Look at the symbol and check the arrow (12 o’clock). This is the unreadable symbol on the pillar.

Head through the passage to reach a room full of candles. Go left and you’ll spot the Om symbol on the wall. Check the position of the arrow (3 o’clock).

Go back to the round chamber and set up the dials accordingly. This will open the locked gate.

Continue moving forward. This will lead to a scary sequence where you’ll be chased by hordes of monsters. Just keep running, and eventually you’ll make it to the exit.

Finding the Underhalls Key

Continue through the tunnel with the vines. You’ll get a call on your walkie-talkie. Once the call is over, the shutter will open.

This will take you to a save point. Continue forward to reach an outside area.

Keep moving forward. You’ll spot a locked gate on the left that requires the Underhalls Key.

Follow the path to the end to spot a door on the left that you can go through.

Keep moving along the narrow corridor following the light. You’ll reach an area where the path splits off. The path on the right leads to a locked gate. So go up the stairs and through the door.

You’ll find some health items along with a save point and a Journal on the tables up ahead.

When you’re ready, head through the door and continue forward till you drop down to a new section.

By now, you should have a couple of Vodka in your inventory. If you haven’t already, make sure you equip them in your Throwable slot.

Continue along the passage. You’ll spot a locked gate on your right up ahead that requires the Underhalls Key. Thankfully, you’ll be picking it up in a moment.

As you keep moving forward, you’ll get ambushed by a Nightmare. Throw your Vodka to ignite it and kill the monster.

This area is pretty straightforward. Keep moving and checking all the small rooms, and one of them will give you the Underhalls Key. The room has a lot of broken monitors.

Return the locked gate from earlier and use the Key to open it. Keep moving forward to eventually make it back outside.

Crafting a Pickaxe

Head to the locked gate in the outside area and use your Key to open it. This path will lead you to a room with a save point. Save your game.

Check the Crafting Blueprint note on the table next to the save point. You’ll need a Small Wooden Handle, a Pickaxe Head, and some Wood Glue to craft a Pickaxe.

There’s a crafting bench in the room, but first you need to find the right materials.

Go through the door on the right. You’ll reach a room that has all the materials you need. Pick them up and return to the crafting bench.

Interact with the workbench and select the items required to craft the Pickaxe.

Head left from the bench and break the wooden beams.

Continue along the road and you’ll run into an ambush. You can either defeat them or run past them. Since weapons have limited durability, we recommend running past them.

Open the gate at the end of the room, and go through the second gate to complete the chapter.
