The director of the game Stellar Blade has won a prestigious award for his contribution to the South Korean video game industry.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the 2025 Korea Content Awards took place in Seoul last week. These awards aim to honor companies and individuals who have contributed to this field. Kim Hyung-tae received a presidential citation for his work on games such as Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
This is what he said:
“This presidential citation is a thank you to the developers and fans who believed in Shift Up and supported us. We will continue to do our best to further promote the competitiveness of Korean games on the global stage.”
Incidentally, Maggie Kang, screenwriter and co-director of KPop Demon Hunters, received the ceremony’s highest honor, the Order of Cultural Merit.
It should also be noted that a sequel to the game, currently titled Stellar Blade 2, has already been officially announced and is scheduled for release in late 2027.
