With RAM prices on the rise, generative artificial intelligence will undoubtedly be one of the hot topics of 2026. You only need to read the New Year’s message from Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, to realize this.
Quite simply, the head of the American company talked only about AI in his statement on the company’s goals for the next 12 months. For him, 2026 will be a “pivotal year for AI”, adding that “the atmosphere is different in many ways”.
“We have moved beyond the initial discovery phase and are entering a phase of large-scale deployment. We are beginning to distinguish between the ‘hype’ and the ‘substance’. We now have a clearer idea of how this technology is evolving, but also of the more complex and important question of how to shape its impact on the world.”
“We are only at the beginning of a marathon. Much remains unpredictable. Faced with this ‘surplus of models,’ where capabilities are evolving faster than our current ability to use them to have a concrete impact, here are some of the points we still need to master.”
Satya Nadella now wants AI to have a concrete and measurable impact on the real world. He also wants to put an end to the debate between “mediocrity and sophistication”. He also hopes to permanently silence the “fallacious arguments” targeting artificial intelligence.
In short, since Microsoft has integrated Copilot into almost every part of its ecosystem, it is not surprising to see its president campaigning for the large-scale democratization of this still much-maligned tool.
