Nioh 3 Reaches Over 1 Million Copies Sold Worldwide

Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja revealed that Nioh 3 has sold over one million copies.

The sales figure is impressive for the series, as the latest entry launched on February 6, 2026. In just two weeks, one million copies have sold, making the third entry the fastest-selling title in the series.

In Nioh 3, players take on the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo, set to become the next shogun during Japan’s prosperous Edo period. However, Takechiyo’s younger brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, is consumed by jealousy and lashes out. Driven by sinister forces, he plots to overthrow Takechiyo and leads a horde of yokai, abruptly ending the era of peace and plunging Japan into hell.

Nioh 3 introduces two combat styles: Samurai and Ninja, which players can freely select between. The Samurai offers a traditional experience that fans will recognize, with a slow, methodical approach to taking down enemies. Meanwhile, the new Arts Proficiency system can enhance Martial Arts and the Deflect mechanic blocks attacks at the last moment.

On the other side is the Ninja Style, a new skill set that excels in agility and aerial attacks. You use Ninjutsu to attack enemies out of range and the Mist technique to evade attacks, which leaves an afterimage.
