Metal Gear Solid series composer Norihiko Hibino has turned a slew of recent pop hits into jazzy numbers.
Released today, Hibino’s Prescription for Pop series gives a jazzy vibe to some of your favorite pop hits. Prescription for Pop: 2025 Hits features covers of HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” Doja Cat’s “Jealous Type,” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.” Prescription for Pop: 2024 Hits will include covers of Dua Lipa’s “Illusion,” Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” and Hozier’s “Too Sweet.”
Scarlet Moon’s Jayson Napolitano said this about the Prescription for Pop releases:
“It’s interesting how Hibino-san’s 2009 album GENTLE LOVE covering pop tunes from around the world and 2009’s original Prescription for Sleep resulted in our first Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies album in 2014. In that way, we’re coming full circle, after 16 albums in the games and anime spaces, we’re turning our attention back to pop music where it all began.
