Gamescom Latam 2026 Hits Record-Breaking Results Compared to Last Year

Gamescom Latam 2026 has just come to a close, and the organizers revealed that the third edition achieved record-breaking results. Compared to last year, growth was 17.5%, resulting in over 154,000 visitors. This turnout further solidifies Gamescom Latam’s position as the premier gaming event in Latin America, both for indie titles and now for AAA releases. In addition to this expressive audience, the event brought in industry veterans and featured a lineup of over 400 games, 60 of which were new releases.

It wasn’t just the public that enjoyed Gamescom Latam. The B2B side of the event also flourished, featuring 175 exhibitors from 23 countries, more than 700 studios, 1,100 companies in the B2B sector from 59 countries, 1,230 brands, and 122 partner institutions. This hall of professionals hosted over 13,000 meetings—a 46% increase from last year’s edition—with an expectation of $180 million in new business. These figures only reinforce Gamescom Latam’s role as the leading business platform for the gaming industry in Latin America.

The 2026 edition brought together some of the industry’s leading global players, including Arc System Works, Big Uncle Games, Blizzard Entertainment, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Level Up! Games, Nintendo, PlayStation, Remedy Entertainment, Riot Games, Roblox, SEGA, Skybound Entertainment, Supercell, The Pokémon Company, and Warner Bros. Games.

“With more than 1,000 game development studios distributed across Brazil, the country demonstrates a unique reach, with creative hubs spread throughout all regions. Brazil is already the leading hub for the games industry in the Global South and an extremely strong consumer market. At gamescom latam, our role is to strengthen and expand this ecosystem — connecting investors, buyers, publishers, accelerators, and studios from around the world. That’s why we bring the best of both national and international production to our audience, while also taking the best of Brazil abroad, boosting IP exports and bringing our stories to a global stage”, says Eliana Russi, Partner and Head of B2B at gamescom latam.

10 Upcoming Indie Games to Be Excited About from LVLUP Expo 2026

I went hands-on with dozens of cool indies a week ago, and these were my favorites.

Visitors had access to hundreds of titles, ranging from major releases to indie games, such as LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Invincible VS, Phantom Blade Zero, and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which were presented to the public through exclusive playable experiences ahead of their official launch.

“Gamescom Latam is a major celebration for the gaming community, bringing together leading global brands and offering fans the opportunity to discover games and, most importantly, get hands-on with upcoming releases. This is only possible because of our DNA, which began with a focus on fostering industry business and has since expanded into a comprehensive experience hub.” Gustavo Steinberg, CEO of Gamescom Latam.

Before becoming Gamescom Latam, the event was called the BIG Festival, and to honor those roots, it still hosts the largest indie game awards in the world. In the 2026 edition, the festival saw over 960 games submitted from 75 countries. In total, 81 titles were selected as finalists across 18 categories. Brazil recorded 451 game submissions, indicating a consistent presence on the international stage. In Latin America, countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Uruguay also had significant participation, with 28 projects selected as finalists.

At gamescom latam, our role is to strengthen and expand this ecosystem — connecting investors, buyers, publishers, accelerators, and studios from around the world.

The plan now is to keep investing in the event so that Gamescom Latam 2027 is even larger, both for the public and industry professionals, bringing more visibility to indie games and major AAA releases while fostering the gaming scene in Latin America.
