Heroes: A Video Game Symphony will bring a night full of video gaming’s most iconic music to The Bowl at Sobeys Stadium (formerly the Canadian Open’s Rexall Stadium) on September 17, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
Having toured across the United States, in France, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Armenia and a sold-out show in Montreal on May 20 — who will not be upstaging us — Heroes: A Video Game Symphony is presented by JMP Entertainment (Final Fantasy/The Legend of Zelda/The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses).
While JMP’s video game music concerts from above are limited to a single universe, this upcoming show draws from dozens of critically acclaimed games from all over the world, including The Elder Scrolls, Prince of Persia, Baldur’s Gate, Diablo, Assassin’s Creed, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, Fallout, Halo, and as many more the orchestra can fit into one night!
“The selection goes beyond instant recognition, says Jason Michael Paul, founder of JMP Entertainment, in a press release. It aims for an emotional interpretation of video games – their cultural impact and their ability to tell stories that transcend generations and platforms.”
The evening will also feature guest composer Akira Yamaoka, known for his work on franchises such as Silent Hill, Contra, and Snatcher.
Behind the orchestra, projections and sequences from the featured games will add a visual dimension and thrill fans. Each section of the concert functions like a chapter. Each musical piece represents the call to adventure, the ultimate trial, the transformed return. The experience is built as a continuous story, not just a collection of iconic themes.
It’ll be led by Nigel Carrington, a BAFTA-nominated narrator and the voice of the acclaimed independent video game Dear Esther. His voice will guide the audience through the performance, connecting music, memory, and pop culture — while reinforcing the idea of video games as a global narrative language.
